Java Coding Specialist - Freelance AI Trainer Project

Your tasks

As a Java Coding Specialist, you will contribute technical expertise to the evaluation and improvement of AI-generated programming solutions. Your responsibilities will include:

• Review Java programming problems and assess model-generated solutions across a range of difficulty levels.
• Evaluate code correctness, readability, efficiency, maintainability, and production readiness.
• Analyze object-oriented design, concurrency, JVM behavior, data structures, algorithms, and system architecture.
• Identify logical errors, flawed abstractions, edge cases, and weaknesses in implementation or reasoning.
• Explain why a solution is incorrect, inefficient, incomplete, or otherwise unsuitable, providing clear technical justification.
• Document recurring model failure patterns and communicate findings in a structured, actionable manner.
• Assess whether programming problems are clearly specified and appropriately challenging for AI training purposes.

Requirements

The ideal candidate has advanced Java knowledge, strong software engineering fundamentals, and the ability to evaluate complex technical solutions critically. Relevant academic qualifications and practical programming experience are both valuable. Key qualifications include:

• Strong proficiency in Java and object-oriented programming.
• Solid understanding of concurrency, JVM internals, data structures, algorithms, and system architecture.
• Ability to evaluate code beyond whether it runs, including design quality, edge-case handling, performance, and maintainability.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify subtle implementation and reasoning errors.
• Excellent written communication skills and the ability to explain technical weaknesses clearly and precisely.
• A bachelor's degree, master's degree, or PhD in computer science, software engineering, or a closely related field is a strong advantage.
• Practical Java development experience, competitive programming participation, open-source contributions, or technical writing experience is beneficial.
• Ability to work independently in a remote contract environment and provide well-documented evaluations.
