Institutional Sales Lead
Your tasks
- Lead end-to-end capital raising: Build and manage a qualified pipeline of institutional and private investors, independently sourcing opportunities through professional networks, targeted outreach, and disciplined prospecting.
- Manage the full sales cycle: Drive opportunities from initial contact and discovery meetings through investor qualification, suitability assessments, negotiations, and signed fund subscriptions or credit facilities.
- Develop investor relationships: Engage with Bitcoin miners, corporate Bitcoin treasuries, Layer 1 foundations, ecosystem funds, family offices, high-net-worth individuals, and other relevant institutional allocators to identify funding opportunities.
- Structure tailored investment proposals: Collaborate with fund management to develop appropriate share-class terms, side letters, and investment proposals that meet investor requirements while remaining commercially viable.
- Represent the fund externally: Participate in industry conferences, investor meetings, and institutional networking events to strengthen market visibility, expand relationships, and generate new business opportunities.
- Contribute to fund strategy: Gather investor feedback and market intelligence to inform product development, investment positioning, and fundraising priorities.
- Maintain pipeline and reporting discipline: Keep CRM systems and pipeline trackers accurate and up to date, participate in regular pipeline reviews, and provide clear visibility into sales progress and fundraising forecasts.
- Ensure regulatory compliance: Conduct fundraising and investor outreach in accordance with applicable marketing, solicitation, investor eligibility, and anti-money laundering and know-your-customer (AML/KYC) requirements.
- Collaborate across teams: Work closely with sales leadership, fund management, and risk, legal, and compliance stakeholders to ensure a smooth and compliant fundraising process.
Requirements
- Relevant professional experience: At least two years of experience in digital asset sales or regulated investment sales, ideally involving fund capital raising, yield products, lending strategies, or credit facilities. Candidates with less experience may be considered if they have directly comparable experience at a digital asset lending or yield platform.
- Demonstrated fundraising success: A proven ability to independently manage sales opportunities and close investment commitments, ideally with a track record of raising at least $15 million or bringing comparable assets under management into a business.
- Established investor network: An active network of Bitcoin holders and institutional allocators, including miners, digital asset treasury companies, Layer 1 foundations, family offices, ecosystem funds, or high-net-worth individuals. A broader digital asset investor network is also valuable.
- Technical and financial expertise: Working knowledge of Bitcoin, decentralized finance (DeFi), Bitcoin-collateralized lending, collateral management, and investment fund structures, with the ability to communicate confidently with both commercially focused investors and technically sophisticated stakeholders.
- Regulatory awareness: A clear understanding of fund marketing and solicitation requirements, investor eligibility criteria, and AML/KYC obligations within regulated investment environments.
- Strong business development skills: Excellent prospecting, relationship-building, negotiation, presentation, and closing abilities, combined with a proactive approach to generating new business rather than relying on an existing inbound pipeline.
- Self-starter mentality: Resilience, independence, and accountability, with the ability to build a sales pipeline from the ground up and remain focused on measurable fundraising outcomes.
- Organizational discipline: Strong CRM management, pipeline reporting, and follow-through skills, alongside the ability to maintain structured processes in an early-stage, rapidly evolving business.
- Collaborative approach: The ability to work effectively with cross-functional teams and balance commercial objectives with risk management, regulatory compliance, and operational requirements.
- Additional advantages: Experience raising capital through traditional finance channels, working with regulated funds such as Cayman segregated portfolio companies (SPCs), or selling yield and lending products across digital assets such as Ethereum or XRP.
- Specialized industry exposure: Familiarity with hashrate financing, miner finance, structured or private credit, tokenization, real-world assets, Bitcoin Layer 2 ecosystems, merged mining, or related blockchain infrastructure is an advantage.
- Early-stage experience: Previous experience as a first or early commercial hire in a growing organization is beneficial.
