Flow Cytometry Field Applications Manager - Upper Midwest/Northeast
Accountabilities Manage, mentor, and develop a team of Field Applications Scientists, supporting their technical capabilities, performance, and professional growth.
Provide scientific and strategic leadership for flow cytometry applications, workflows, and technologies across the assigned territory.
Partner with sales teams to support growth strategies, accelerate opportunities, and position application solutions and value-added services effectively.
Oversee technical and scientific pre-sales and post-sales support, including customer presentations, product demonstrations, protocol development, training, and troubleshooting.
Collaborate with customers to understand their scientific and workflow requirements and translate those needs into effective technical solutions.
Represent the organization as a scientific and applications leader at conferences, workshops, customer meetings, and other industry events.
Establish and maintain best practices, standard operating approaches, workflows, and performance metrics for the applications team.
Monitor team performance, reinforce accountability, and ensure compliance with relevant processes and standards.
Manage staffing requirements and allocate resources effectively across customer and business priorities.
Collaborate with sales, R&D, and other cross-functional teams to align technical capabilities with customer requirements and market needs.
Support continuous improvement of field applications processes, customer engagement, and technical service delivery.
Travel extensively across the assigned territory, including up to approximately 85% overnight travel , to support customers and team activities.
Requirements
Bachelor's, Master's, or PhD degree in Immunology, Cell Biology, Molecular Biology , or a related life sciences discipline.
Minimum 5 years of professional experience in flow cytometry .
Experience in applications, technical support, field-based scientific roles, or a comparable customer-facing scientific position.
At least 2 years of experience in a life sciences leadership or management role is preferred but not mandatory.
Strong technical understanding of flow cytometry workflows, applications, and laboratory environments.
Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor, and develop scientific or technical professionals.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to explain complex scientific concepts to customers, sales professionals, and other stakeholders.
Strong customer orientation and the ability to build productive relationships with researchers, laboratory professionals, and commercial teams.
Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills, with the ability to connect customer needs, scientific applications, and commercial opportunities.
Ability to establish processes, metrics, and best practices while maintaining accountability for team performance.
Previous Field Applications Management experience, particularly in flow cytometry, is an asset.
Experience with clinical flow cytometry is an asset.
Valid driver's license and an acceptable motor vehicle record.
Willingness and ability to travel extensively, including up to approximately 85% overnight travel.

Annual salary range of approximately $120,000–$150,000 , subject to applicable location, experience, and compensation considerations.
