Accountabilities: The Executive Director, Product Strategy & Innovation – Auto & Umbrella will provide strategic leadership for the development, launch, and optimization of innovative product solutions. This role will oversee product strategy, portfolio performance, and enterprise initiatives while ensuring solutions align with customer needs, business objectives, and regulatory expectations.

Lead the development and execution of innovative product strategies, roadmaps, and multi-product portfolios across Auto and Umbrella offerings.

Own profit and loss performance, operational objectives, and strategic outcomes for assigned product areas.

Drive product innovation from ideation through execution, including prototyping, design-led approaches, launch planning, and market adoption.

Develop and evaluate strategic recommendations for new products, enhancements, digital capabilities, and partnership opportunities.

Analyze product performance metrics, market trends, competitive insights, and customer needs to identify growth opportunities.

Oversee product lifecycle management, including post-launch optimization, underwriting considerations, pricing, forms, and product enhancements.

Partner with Legal, Compliance, Risk Management, Sales, Marketing, Operations, and other stakeholders to ensure compliant and effective product delivery.

Influence enterprise decision-making by presenting recommendations, business cases, and performance updates to senior leadership.

Establish and maintain a strong product development pipeline aligned with long-term strategic priorities.

Support distribution strategies across digital, mobile, and contact center channels to improve customer experiences.

Manage, coach, and develop high-performing teams through recruitment, mentoring, performance management, and leadership development.

Identify, measure, and mitigate risks associated with product strategy, implementation, and ongoing operations.

Define multi-year product strategies, investment priorities, and objectives that support innovation and business growth.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in product leadership, strategy development, and business transformation within insurance, financial services, or related industries. This role requires a proven ability to lead complex initiatives, influence executives, and translate market insights into measurable business outcomes.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Statistics, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

10+ years of relevant industry experience in operations, marketing, actuarial, underwriting, or product management.

Direct experience leading product strategy and lifecycle management for Auto and/or Umbrella insurance products.

4+ years of experience building, leading, and developing high-performing teams.

Proven success developing product roadmaps, managing portfolios, and launching complex solutions.

Strong understanding of product development lifecycle (PDLC), insurance regulations, and risk/compliance requirements.

Experience leading large-scale enterprise initiatives and strategic planning efforts.

Strong executive communication, storytelling, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.

Ability to simplify complex business, technical, and financial concepts for senior audiences.

Advanced analytical skills with the ability to use data-driven insights to guide strategy and decisions.

Experience managing P&L performance, forecasting, funding strategies, and long-term business growth initiatives.

Ability to shape future product and technology strategies through multi-year planning and innovation frameworks.

Experience developing customer-centric solutions leveraging technology, data, and digital capabilities.

Military experience or experience supporting military communities is considered a plus.
