Your tasks

  • End-to-end solution delivery: Partner with Finance, HR, Sales Operations, and other business stakeholders to identify operational challenges, gather requirements, translate business needs into technical architectures, develop proofs of concept, and deliver production-ready solutions.
  • Technical leadership and mentorship: Coach software engineers and senior engineers in system design, clean coding practices, distributed systems, cloud engineering, and effective troubleshooting, helping raise technical standards across distributed teams.
  • Architecture and code quality: Lead architecture reviews, establish rigorous code and pull request review practices, and promote maintainable, secure, reliable, and auditable software delivery.
  • Java microservices development: Design, develop, and maintain secure, high-performance backend services using Java 17/21 and Spring Boot, including RESTful APIs, multithreaded applications, distributed systems, and event-driven architectures.
  • Enterprise SaaS integrations: Architect and implement reliable integrations across enterprise platforms such as Salesforce, Workday, NetSuite, Zuora, Stripe, and Coupa using Workato or other integration platforms, custom connectors, REST APIs, GraphQL, and webhooks.
  • Full-stack development: Build and maintain internal dashboards, administrative consoles, and workflow automation tools using TypeScript, React, Next.js, HTML5, and CSS3, supported by robust backend services.
  • AWS cloud architecture: Design and operate scalable, cost-effective cloud and serverless solutions using AWS services such as Lambda, API Gateway, EventBridge, SQS/SNS, DynamoDB, RDS, Aurora, Secrets Manager, IAM, and CloudWatch.
  • Infrastructure automation: Implement infrastructure as code using Terraform or equivalent tools to enable consistent, secure, and reproducible cloud deployments.
  • AI-powered automation: Identify opportunities to apply generative AI, large language models, intelligent agents, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), and Model Context Protocol (MCP) integrations using AWS Bedrock and Claude or OpenAI APIs.
  • Data architecture and management: Develop reliable data integrations and services using relational databases, NoSQL technologies, and modern data platforms, supporting data consistency, transaction reconciliation, and enterprise reporting.
  • Security, governance, and compliance: Enforce enterprise authentication and authorization standards, secure integration practices, automated testing, CI/CD controls, centralized monitoring, and compliance with IT General Controls (ITGC), SOX 404(b), and relevant SOC 2 requirements.
  • Production ownership and incident resolution: Provide advanced technical support for critical enterprise integrations, lead blameless root-cause analyses, resolve production issues, and implement permanent architectural improvements.
  • Cross-functional influence: Communicate technical concepts and architectural trade-offs clearly to executives, business leaders, and engineering teams while aligning technology decisions with broader business priorities.

Requirements

  • Professional experience: At least eight years of hands-on software engineering experience, including a minimum of two years in a Staff Engineer, Technical Lead, Principal Engineer, or comparable senior technical leadership role.
  • Technical mentorship: Demonstrated success mentoring engineers, conducting constructive code and architecture reviews, and promoting engineering excellence across teams.
  • Java backend expertise: Advanced production experience with Java 17/21, Spring Boot, RESTful APIs, microservices, multithreading, distributed systems, and event-driven architecture.
  • Full-stack development: Strong working knowledge of TypeScript, React, HTML5, and CSS3, with the ability to independently develop and deploy end-to-end internal applications and tools.
  • Enterprise systems expertise: Hands-on integration and data-modeling experience across at least two major enterprise technology domains:
  • Finance and order-to-cash: NetSuite, Zuora, Stripe, or Coupa.
  • Human Resources and people operations: Workday, including HCM, benefits, or compensation.
  • Customer relationship management and front office: Salesforce Sales Cloud, Service Cloud, or CPQ.
  • AWS cloud engineering: Extensive experience with AWS cloud and serverless architecture, including Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, EventBridge, IAM, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, and S3.
  • Enterprise integration platforms: Strong experience with enterprise integration platforms such as Workato, which is preferred, or MuleSoft and Boomi, alongside custom API, webhook, and connector development.
  • Database and data modeling: Solid knowledge of PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, and modern data lake or warehouse concepts, including platforms such as Databricks and Snowflake.
  • Security and compliance: Understanding of enterprise identity and access management protocols, including OAuth 2.0, SAML, mutual TLS (mTLS), Okta SSO, and SCIM, as well as audit-ready change management, ITGC, SOX, and SOC 2 requirements.
  • Business communication: Exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to engage senior executives in business-focused discussions and collaborate with engineers on detailed technical designs.
  • Problem-solving and ownership: Strong analytical skills, sound architectural judgment, and a proactive approach to troubleshooting, prioritization, and delivering measurable business outcomes.
