Epic Bugsy Analyst
Accountabilities Configure, build, and test the Epic Bugsy infection control module based on clinical and operational workflow requirements.
Partner with Infection Preventionists, microbiology and laboratory teams, pathology informatics professionals, and IT stakeholders to translate clinical requirements into effective system configurations.
Support integrations between Bugsy and related Epic applications, including Beaker , when required.
Participate in project meetings, design and working sessions, testing cycles, and implementation activities.
Troubleshoot application issues, identify root causes, and provide ongoing support following implementation and go-live.
Support infection surveillance and isolation workflows to ensure the application accurately reflects hospital processes.
Assist with CDC/NHSN reporting workflows and surgical site infection (SSI) tracking configuration, where applicable.
Contribute to application optimization and continuous improvement initiatives.
Provide support during go-live activities, including on-site at-the-elbow assistance when needed.
Communicate effectively with both clinical and technical stakeholders throughout configuration, testing, and support activities.
Manage assigned responsibilities independently and maintain progress with minimal supervision.
Requirements
Epic Bugsy certification is required or must be in progress, depending on project requirements.
Demonstrated experience building, configuring, implementing, or supporting the Epic Bugsy module.
Strong understanding of infection prevention and infection control workflows within a hospital or healthcare environment.
Familiarity with infection surveillance, isolation workflows, and related clinical reporting processes.
Understanding of CDC/NHSN reporting and surgical site infection tracking is beneficial.
Experience working with related Epic applications, particularly Beaker , is advantageous.
Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with clinical, laboratory, informatics, and IT stakeholders.
Ability to translate clinical and operational requirements into practical application configurations.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to work independently, manage priorities, and deliver assignments with minimal supervision.
Comfortable working remotely while maintaining clear and proactive communication.
Availability to travel and provide on-site support during go-live periods when required.
