Data Solution Architect

Accountabilities Design conceptual, logical, and physical architectures for enterprise data, cloud, integration, analytics, reporting, and operational solutions, ensuring alignment with architecture standards and strategic technology roadmaps.

Partner with business leaders, domain teams, Enterprise Architecture, engineering, infrastructure, security, and data teams to understand requirements and develop end-to-end technology solutions.

Architect data platforms, APIs, integration patterns, and data movement solutions supporting batch, near-real-time, and streaming workloads across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.

Evaluate technical alternatives, communicate trade-offs and risks, and provide clear architecture recommendations to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

Ensure solutions incorporate security, resiliency, governance, compliance, risk management, and regulatory requirements from the outset.

Participate in Agile delivery, architecture governance, design reviews, technical decision-making, proof-of-concept initiatives, and vendor evaluations.

Develop architecture documentation, solution diagrams, technical specifications, implementation guidance, and operational handoff materials.

Research emerging technologies and industry trends to identify opportunities for modernization, innovation, and operational improvement.

Support enterprise and solution architects in managing dependencies across products, platforms, and technology domains.

Maintain appropriate risk and internal-control practices, identify issues requiring escalation, and support the timely resolution of audit or regulatory findings.

Requirements

Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant professional experience, or an equivalent combination of higher education and relevant experience totaling at least 9 years.

Demonstrated experience designing and delivering enterprise technology solutions across cloud, hybrid, and on-premises environments.

Strong background in solution architecture, application architecture, data architecture, systems design, and integration patterns.

Experience in software, platform, data, service, cloud, or infrastructure engineering and technology delivery.

Experience designing and integrating applications, APIs, platforms, and data solutions using established architecture principles and patterns.

Working knowledge of cloud platforms, particularly Microsoft Azure, as well as security controls, infrastructure, networking, and modernization practices.

Understanding of data platforms, analytics and reporting architectures, data integration, ETL/ELT, APIs, event-driven architectures, and cloud-native solutions.

Ability to evaluate multiple approaches to complex technical problems and clearly explain architecture decisions, trade-offs, risks, and recommendations.

Strong communication and stakeholder-management skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across technical teams, business functions, and senior leadership.

Familiarity with technology governance, resiliency, security, compliance, and risk-management requirements.

Preferred experience includes graduate-level technical education, recognized cloud or architecture certifications, and experience working across multiple technical disciplines such as data engineering, application development, infrastructure, platform engineering, cloud engineering, or solution architecture.

Experience with Azure-based solutions, data lakes, data warehouses, lakehouses, enterprise data integration, Agile and DevOps environments, and financial-services technology is advantageous.

Familiarity with banking regulatory, security, governance, and compliance requirements is preferred.

Benefits

Annual base salary range of $116,400–$194,000 , with specific compensation determined by factors such as location, knowledge, skills, and experience.

Remote-eligible work arrangement in the United States, with the role potentially based in the Buffalo, NY or Wilmington, DE offices.
