Your tasks
- ProvidesuicidepreventionandcrisisinterventioncounselingtoLGBTQ+youngpeoplenationwidethroughtext,chat,and/orphone-basedservices.
- Buildtrustwithindividualsseekingsupportandcreateasafe,affirmingspaceforconversationsaboutsexuality,genderidentity,emotionaldistress,andsuicidalideation.
- Followestablishedcrisisinterventionprotocols,operationalprocedures,performancestandards,andguidancefromon-shiftleaders.
- Collaborateeffectivelywithstaffmembers,volunteercounselors,andteamleaderstomaintaincontinuityandqualityofcrisisservices.
- Managemultipleconversationsandadministrativeresponsibilitieswhilemeetingestablishedexpectationsforresponsehandlingtime,utilization,andservicequality.
- Reviewandrespondconstructivelytoperformancefeedback,qualityassessments,andcoachingtostrengthencounselingeffectiveness.
- Maintainaccuraterecordsanddemonstratestrongattentiontodetailacrossallassignedtasks.
- Applyethical,equitable,andprofessionalpracticeswhilefosteringawelcomingenvironmentbuiltonrespectandbelonging.
- Demonstratesoundjudgment,adaptability,andproblem-solvingskillswhenrespondingtochallengingsituationsandcompetingpriorities.
- Prioritizecontinuouslearning,knowledgesharing,andpersonalwell-beingtosupportsustainableperformanceincrisisintervention.
- Completeadditionalrelevantdutiesandresponsibilitiesasassigned.
Requirements
- Abachelor'sdegreeinsocialwork,counseling,psychology,orarelatedfieldispreferred;alternatively,atleasttwoyearsofexperienceincrisiscareorotherrelevantprofessionalexperienceisadvantageous.
- DemonstratedknowledgeofLGBTQ+issues,includingthespecificchallengesandexperiencesfacedbyLGBTQ+youngpeople.
- Relevantcourseworkorprofessionalexperienceincrisiscare,contactcenters,customercare,orsimilarsupportenvironments.
- StrongwrittenandspokenEnglishskills,withexcellentcommunication,activelistening,andinterpersonalabilities.
- Theabilitytoremaincalm,compassionate,andprofessionalwhenhandlingemotionallyintenseorhigh-pressuresituations.
- Strongresilience,adaptability,andemotionalawareness,alongwithademonstratedcommitmenttoself-careandpersonalwell-being.
- Excellentorganizationalandmultitaskingskills,withtheabilitytomanagecompetingpriorities,followprocedures,andmeetdeadlines.
