Cloud Architect III

Accountabilities: Develop and oversee cloud computing strategies, including cloud adoption plans, application architecture, and ongoing system management.

Lead cloud implementation projects and system deployments across Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) and Platform as a Service (PaaS) environments.

Collaborate with cloud service providers to design and implement effective system architectures.

Support onboarding of new customers and system tenants while maintaining a client-focused approach.

Translate high-level system requirements into detailed technical and implementation specifications.

Serve as a technical liaison for customers and business development initiatives, helping understand and shape technical requirements.

Collaborate with analysts, engineers, programmers, domain architects, and other technical teams to define project limitations, system capabilities, and interface requirements.

Assess current-state architectures and develop recommendations for future-state architecture and cloud adoption.

Monitor and optimize cloud performance, system updates, connectivity, and infrastructure reliability.

Lead consultative engagements with architects, sales consultants, business analysts, technical staff, and customers to support successful project delivery.

Apply a cloud-first approach to help customers maximize the value of cloud-based solutions.

Ensure contractual deliverables are completed to required standards and customer expectations.

Maintain accurate reporting of planned and worked hours in accordance with applicable requirements.

Identify opportunities for growth and communicate relevant opportunities to leadership.

Build productive and positive professional relationships with customers and program stakeholders.

Maintain required professional development activities and participate in organizational meetings and team activities.

Perform other related duties as assigned.

Requirements:

Active TS/SCI security clearance.

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience with 5–7 years of cloud architecture experience, or a Master’s degree with 3–5 years of relevant experience.

Comprehensive understanding of cloud computing principles, technical concepts, architectures, and implementation practices.

Ability to independently develop solutions to complex technical challenges.

Experience with infrastructure-as-code tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.

Familiarity with DevOps practices and CI/CD pipelines.

Experience designing and implementing cloud-based solutions across front-end, back-end, and operational delivery environments.

Knowledge of cloud-native services, serverless architectures, and microservices.

Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to document and communicate technical recommendations and business cases for change.

Familiarity with cybersecurity best practices and software security protocols.

Experience with system integration, scalability, and performance optimization.

Ability to analyze system performance, develop implementation requirements, and ensure compliance with applicable verification standards.

Experience providing technical support for operational strategies and initiatives focused on process optimization, productivity, and quality.

Experience with government and defense-related systems engineering.

One or more of the following certifications is required: CompTIA Cloud+, CompTIA Security+, GICSP, SSCP, or GSEC.

AWS Certified Solutions Architect, Microsoft Certified: Azure Solutions Architect Expert, or Google Cloud Professional Cloud Architect certification is preferred.

Strong understanding of cloud security and compliance requirements is preferred.

Experience with consultative selling or enabling services in cloud environments is a plus.

Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively with technical and business stakeholders.
