Change Management Specialist
Accountabilities Conduct change management assessments and develop tailored strategies for informatics and technology initiatives.
Create transition and implementation plans, integrating change activities into project plans, roadmaps, and delivery timelines.
Develop key change deliverables, including communication plans, change roadmaps, coaching plans, training strategies, and resistance management plans.
Identify, analyze, and engage stakeholders across central offices, regional networks, medical centers, and leadership groups.
Support senior leaders and stakeholders through organizational changes and help establish effective engagement approaches.
Identify anticipated sources of resistance, including challenges associated with union environments, and develop appropriate mitigation strategies.
Assess user readiness and support adoption during electronic health record transitions, workflow standardization, and implementation of new informatics tools.
Support adoption of health information exchange capabilities and standardized clinical content through field communities and professional networks.
Contribute to organizational design activities, including defining evolving roles, responsibilities, and expectations for informatics teams.
Establish success metrics, measure adoption and readiness, monitor progress, and track and report change-related issues.
Participate in PI Planning, backlog refinement, iteration ceremonies, and system demonstrations while aligning change activities with feature delivery.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field is required; degrees in organizational psychology, business, healthcare administration, or related disciplines are valued.
At least 6 years of professional experience in change management, organizational transformation, or a closely related discipline.
Demonstrated experience developing change management deliverables such as communication plans, training plans, transition strategies, and resistance management plans.
Strong stakeholder analysis and engagement skills, including experience working effectively with senior leaders and diverse organizational groups.
Proven ability to assess user readiness, measure adoption, define success metrics, and translate findings into actionable recommendations.
Strong communication, facilitation, organization, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a complex environment.
Ability to obtain and maintain the required background investigation and authorization to support the role.
Must reside and work in the United States with valid U.S. work authorization.
Prosci certification, Certified Change Management Professional (CCMP) certification, or comparable credentials are preferred.
Experience applying change management within unionized environments is highly valued.
Experience supporting healthcare organizations, electronic health record transitions, or large-scale clinical transformation programs is preferred.
Experience supporting federal healthcare programs or Veterans Health Administration environments is an advantage.
Familiarity with SAFe or Scrum-based delivery environments is preferred.
