Assistant Manager - Security
Accountabilities: As Assistant Manager - Security, you will oversee security operations, support the development of the security team, and help ensure effective protection across all areas of the property.
Oversee daily security operations and maintain a safe and secure environment across guest, operational, restricted, and perimeter areas.
Supervise, train, coach, and mentor security personnel while promoting compliance with policies, industry practices, and local regulations.
Monitor surveillance systems, access control points, and security equipment to identify vulnerabilities and recommend preventative measures.
Respond promptly and professionally to security incidents, emergencies, and guest concerns while maintaining composure and clear communication.
Conduct regular security patrols across guest areas, back-of-house spaces, perimeter zones, and restricted access points.
Prepare detailed incident reports and maintain accurate security documentation and records.
Coordinate with law enforcement, emergency services, and other relevant stakeholders during critical situations.
Conduct security risk assessments and develop practical solutions to strengthen overall protection.
Ensure compliance with security protocols, safety regulations, health standards, and operational procedures.
Manage access control systems, key distribution, visitor management, and related records.
Provide security briefings, operational updates, and performance reports to senior management and relevant departments.
Investigate security breaches, theft, suspicious activity, and other incidents, implementing appropriate corrective actions.
Maintain strict confidentiality and discretion when handling sensitive security matters, guest information, and proprietary procedures.
Support team development through regular feedback, coaching, and inclusive leadership practices.
Requirements
The ideal candidate will combine practical security expertise with strong leadership, communication, and crisis-management capabilities. You should be comfortable making sound decisions under pressure, managing sensitive information, and working across a range of operational and stakeholder environments.
3–5 years of professional security experience in a corporate, hospitality, or similar organizational environment.
Proven supervisory or management experience, with the ability to lead, motivate, and develop security teams.
Strong technical knowledge of security systems, access control technologies, surveillance equipment, and monitoring tools.
Excellent incident response and crisis management skills, with sound decision-making under pressure.
Strong understanding of security protocols, health and safety regulations, and operational standards.
Proficiency in security documentation, report writing, record keeping, and data analysis.
Valid security license or certification as required by applicable regulations in India.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with law enforcement, emergency services, management, and internal stakeholders.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
Physical fitness and flexibility to work varied shifts, including nights, weekends, and on-call periods.
Preferred qualifications:
Experience conducting security audits, vulnerability assessments, and risk analyses.
Knowledge of conflict resolution and de-escalation techniques.
Familiarity with security management software and digital documentation systems.
Experience training and mentoring security personnel.
Knowledge of the local security environment and applicable regional regulations in Kochi.
Certification in advanced security management or related professional development.
Experience in customer-focused environments where guest relations and service excellence are important.
