Engineering Assistant

Your tasks

We are looking for a technically skilled and analytical Engineering Assistant to support the diagnosis, testing, and improvement of electric vehicle (EV) systems. The successful candidate will assist with battery and electrical component diagnostics, root-cause analysis, component testing, and research and development activities to improve product reliability, safety, and conversion quality.

• Diagnose faults in batteries, Battery Management Systems (BMS), chargers, controllers, motors, sensors, wiring harnesses, and other electrical components.
• Conduct battery and electrical testing using appropriate diagnostic tools.
• Document diagnostic findings, test results, root causes, and repair recommendations.
• Support decisions on whether components should be repaired, reused, quarantined, returned under warranty, or scrapped.
• Participate in EV kit testing, component validation, and hardware research and development.
• Develop and update diagnostic checklists, testing procedures, and quality-control documents.
• Analyse recurring component failures and recommend improvements.
• Follow safety procedures when handling lithium batteries, electrical systems, and testing equipment.

Requirements

• HND, BSc, or a strong technical diploma in Mechatronics, Physics, Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Electronics, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field.
• 1–3+ years of practical experience in electronics diagnostics, battery systems, EV systems, automotive electrical systems, laboratory testing, or technical R&D support.
• Experience using multimeters, clamp meters, diagnostic software, data loggers, or related testing equipment.
• Understanding of batteries, BMS, motors, controllers, sensors, charging systems, or power electronics is an advantage.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to prepare clear technical reports and communicate findings effectively.
• Good safety awareness and attention to detail.
