The Engineer/Senior Engineer is responsible for the maintenance and servicing of port equipment and its associated electrical and mechanical parts. He/She leads a team of Assistant Engineers and Technicians to ensure that maintenance works are carried out swiftly and in accordance with regulatory requirements to minimise disruptions to port operations.

The Engineer/Senior Engineer acts as a first point of contact for complex repairs and works closely with vendors to address and resolve technical issues. He/She develops maintenance regimes and ensures that they are implemented, and assesses risks and its impact on the organisation. The Engineer/Senior Engineer solves day-to-day issues and oversees the implementation of workflow improvements that may enhance customers' satisfaction, as well as optimise the use of the organisations resources.

The Engineer/Senior Engineer monitors the teams performance and their key performance indicators. He/She is a team player with strong leadership skills. He/She should be able to work under pressure, multi-task and work irregular hours, as well as be prepared to at various heights.

  • Analyse risk management data.
  • Conduct audits on maintenance of equipment.
  • Develop training roadmaps to address competencies of port engineering team.
  • Develop, coordinate, or monitor all aspects of installation and commissioning.
  • Manage compliance to risk management frameworks, policies and processes.
  • Manage engineering resources and budget.
  • Manage tenders and evaluate bidders for resource management.
  • Measure equipment efficiency to propose improvements.
  • Monitor maintenance and repair schedules to ensure compliance.
  • Oversee complex repairs of port equipment.
  • Oversee implementation of workflow improvements to improve efficiency.
  • Oversees the deployment of staff to maintenance functions.
  • Participate in the design and detailing for automated guided vehicles (AGVs).
  • Prepares specifications and drawings installation.
  • Specify system components or direct modification of products.
