A Logistics Coordinator is mainly responsible for coordinating the movement, storage, and delivery of goods while making sure operations run smoothly and on time.
Typical job scope
- Coordinate deliveries and shipments — arrange schedules, vehicles, drivers, and delivery routes.
- Manage logistics documentation — prepare delivery orders, invoices, packing lists, shipping documents, etc.
- Track shipments — monitor deliveries and update customers or internal teams on shipment status.
- Coordinate with suppliers and customers — communicate about delivery schedules, quantities, delays, and requirements.
- Work with warehouse teams — coordinate receiving, picking, packing, loading, and dispatching.
- Inventory coordination — monitor stock movement and assist with stock checks/reconciliation.
- Handle delivery issues — resolve delays, damaged goods, missing items, or incorrect deliveries.
- Update systems and reports — maintain records of orders, shipments, inventory, and delivery status.
- Coordinate transport companies/drivers — arrange vehicles and ensure deliveries are completed according to schedule.
- Cost control — monitor transportation/logistics costs and look for ways to improve efficiency.
- Ensure compliance — make sure shipments follow company procedures and relevant transport/safety requirements.
