Position Description This position provides senior commercial and investment leadership across JERA’s global LNG value chain. The role is responsible for originating, shaping, evaluating and executing complex LNG, gas-to-power, infrastructure, acquisition and strategic partnership opportunities, while advising senior management on portfolio strategy, capital allocation and commercial risk. The successful candidate will bring deep LNG industry expertise, an extensive network of trusted relationships and a proven record of leading complex transactions. The role requires an experienced, hands-on professional who can operate autonomously, exercise sound judgement under uncertainty, mentor junior colleagues and translate market developments into actionable commercial opportunities. Key Role Responsibilities

  • Commercial Strategy: Shape LNG growth strategy, portfolio positioning and capital allocation recommendations by integrating market insight, competitive intelligence and long-term value creation considerations.

· Support New Business Development: Support the development of LNG, gas-to-power and energy infrastructure opportunities by leveraging deep industry relationships across producers, utilities, portfolio players, developers, financiers, advisors and government stakeholders.

  • Investment Leadership: Lead the commercial evaluation and structuring of investments, acquisitions, joint ventures and strategic partnerships, from initial screening through internal approval and execution.
  • Transaction Execution: Lead commercial negotiations, due diligence and transaction workstreams, working closely with Origination, Trading, Legal, Finance, Technical and other internal stakeholders.
  • Valuation & Risk: Oversee and challenge DCF, project finance, valuation, scenario and risk analyses, ensuring recommendations are commercially grounded, transparent and decision-ready.
  • Senior Stakeholder Engagement: Present investment recommendations and strategic advice to senior management and investment committees, and represent JERA in discussions with senior external counterparties.
  • Team Leadership: Mentor and develop junior team members, set high analytical and execution standards, and build repeatable frameworks for commercial and investment decision-making.

Experience Required

  • At least 20 years’ experience across LNG, natural gas, power, energy infrastructure, project development, corporate development, investment banking, private equity or related commercial leadership roles.
  • Deep understanding of the global LNG value chain, including supply, shipping, regasification, downstream demand, gas-to-power and associated contractual structures.
  • Proven track record of originating, negotiating and executing complex commercial transactions, investments, acquisitions, joint ventures or strategic partnerships.
  • Extensive and trusted industry network across LNG suppliers, buyers, utilities, developers, infrastructure owners, financiers, advisors and relevant government stakeholders.
  • Strong investment judgement, with the ability to direct and challenge DCF, valuation, project finance, sensitivity and scenario analysis.
  • Demonstrated experience influencing senior management, investment committees and external decision-makers across multiple geographies.

Education

  • Degree in Finance, Economics, Engineering, Business, Energy Studies or another relevant discipline.
  • Advanced degree or relevant professional qualification is advantageous.
