Purpose and objective of the position:
For our internationally successful customer from the high-tech and semiconductor industry, we are looking for a Development Engineer / System Engineer (m/f/d) in the field of Thermal Engineering. You will work on the development of thermal and fluid-dynamic system architectures for highly complex mechatronic and optical components in microlithography. In doing so, you will develop and validate models, perform simulations, and support design verification and industrialization.
Your tasks:
- Participation in the elaboration of designs for thermal and fluid-dynamic architectures from the early development phase of mechatronic and optical components, taking into account performance, timing, and costs
- Development of models and methods for system identification and control of thermal systems of microlithography systems
- Development and verification of concepts using 1D/3D simulations as well as definition of tests for design verification and model validation
- Close cooperation with interdisciplinary teams of internal and external developers, service providers, and suppliers
- Creation and coordination of requirements in close exchange with all relevant stakeholders as well as creation of development documents
- Ensuring design verification, manufacturability, and integrability as well as risk management within the framework of industrialization
- Representation of the assigned topics within a mechatronics team towards development projects and customers
- Integration into a development network consisting of customers, external partners of the high-tech industry, and research institutions
Your profile:
- Very good university degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechatronics, Cybernetics, Process Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Physics, or a comparable technical/scientific course of study
- Several years of professional experience in the thermal or thermoelastic design and modeling of technical systems and components
- Sound knowledge in numerical modeling, system identification, model reduction, and control of thermal systems
- Experience with CFD and FE simulations as well as ideally with ANSYS, MATLAB, and Python
- Experience in the development and validation of models as well as in the planning and execution of tests
- Independent, structured, and systematic way of working as well as strong organizational and communication skills
- Enjoyment of working in interdisciplinary teams and in a dynamic development environment
- Very good skills in the presentation and communication of technical content
- Very good English skills in speaking and writing
