Wanted: Kitchen Trainee (Flavor Maker Pupil) Jaz Amsterdam is a hotel that wants to surprise its guests and provide a stay they would never expect. Do you want to learn under the guidance of professional chefs how things work in the open kitchen of the Rhythms Bar & Kitchen? And is preparing dishes in larger quantities for our guests at breakfast or banqueting something for you? Then come and strengthen our kitchen brigade now!

Under the guidance of the Sous-Chef, you will perform all preparatory work in the kitchen as a Kitchen Apprentice. You will also assist in preparing sauces, meat, and fish, portioning dishes, and plating. Using basic cooking techniques, you will process various ingredients into hot and cold dishes. Furthermore, you will communicate daily with your colleagues in service to ensure our guests experience an unforgettable stay.

Job requirements

If you:

• Have a passion for local products and craftsmanship, in other words: you are a FOODIE;
• Possess multitasking as a second nature;
• Believe that cooking is an art;
• Are looking for a unique environment to learn from;

And you:

• Are following a chef/hospitality education;
• Are looking for an internship for at least 20 weeks;
• Want to develop into a kitchen expert;
• Have a little experience in the kitchen;
• Are eager to support the kitchen brigade of Jaz Amsterdam under the guidance of a mentor;
• Speak English and preferably Dutch - more languages are a plus.
