Your tasks

We are seeking a full-time Structural Design Engineer to join our team.

What You?ll Do

• Assist with and progressively manage structural engineering projects from preliminary design through construction completion
• Perform structural design calculations for steel, concrete, and timber structures

• Model and analyze structural building components
• Prepare design sketches, markups, details, and engineering drawings

• Coordinate with clients, architects, contractors, and other design disciplines
• Assist in preparing and reviewing engineering drawings and specifications

• Participate in design reviews and quality control checks
• Review structural shop drawings for conformance with the drawings and specifications

• Conduct site visits to review construction for conformance with the structural design
• Communicate clearly with clients and project teams by email, telephone, and in person

• Work with senior engineers while progressively taking on greater design and project responsibility

Requirements

This position is ideally suited to a professional engineer or engineer-in-training with 1?5 years of structural design experience who is interested in developing their technical and project management skills within an established consulting firm.

What We?re Looking For

• A bachelor?s degree in civil engineering with a focus on structural engineering
• 1?5 years of relevant structural engineering experience

• Registration, or eligibility for registration, as a Professional Engineer (P.Eng.) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT) in New Brunswick
• For EIT applicants, a commitment to working toward professional licensure

• Knowledge of applicable Canadian building codes and structural design standards
• Experience in the structural design of steel, concrete, and/or timber structures

• Strong technical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
• The ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

• Fluent English communication skills, both written and verbal
• A valid driver?s licence and the ability to travel locally for site reviews and project meetings
