Field Service Engineer

Your tasks

_Position Summary_

• The Field Service Engineer (FSE) delivers preventive maintenance, calibration, verification, troubleshooting, repair, installation and technical support services at customer sites throughout Singapore. The FSE protects and promotes Instron’s premium image, quality standards and accreditations while exceeding customer expectations. In addition to technical responsibilities, the FSE actively develops aftermarket business opportunities by generating quotations, promoting Calibration (CAL) and Preventive Maintenance Program (PPM) offerings, securing purchase orders, supporting contract renewals and closing service-related orders.

_General Duties_

• Astrong emphasis on personal and team safety procedures and requirements.
• Deliver preventative maintenance, verification, repair, troubleshooting and installation services compliant with quality and accreditation requirements.

• Document service activities and complete all administrative documentation accurately and on time.
• Obtain purchase orders for on-demand service assignments and support contract renewals.

• Generate quotations for service visits, spare parts, upgrades, calibration services(CAL), preventive maintenance programs (PPM) and service contracts.
• Follow up on quotations and actively drive order closure to achieve service revenue targets.

• Promote CAL, PPM, service contracts, accessories, retrofits and new Instron solutions to customers.
• Identify, qualify and report sales opportunities using company CRM processes.

• Build long-term customer relationships and act as a trusted technical advisor.
• Collaborate with Sales and Customer Support teams to maximize customer satisfaction and business growth.

• Maintain assigned company assets in accordance with company policies.
• Participate in trade shows, seminars, customer events and training activities as required.

Requirements

_Education, Knowledge, Skills & Ability Required_

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical, Electronic, Mechatronics, Mechanical Engineering ore quivalent technical discipline.
• Minimum3 years of field service, maintenance, automation or technical support experience.

• Strong knowledge of electro-mechanical systems and closed-loop control systems.
• Abilityto read electrical schematics, technical drawings and mechanical documentation.

• Experience preparing quotations and commercial proposals is preferred.
• Proven ability to identify opportunities, influence customers and close service-related orders.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Abilityto work independently and manage a dynamic travel schedule.

• Fluency in English & bilingual candidates preferred
• Experience supporting semiconductor, electronics, automotive, medical device, research laboratory or manufacturing customers is an advantage.

• Manufacturing plants, laboratories and customer facilities.
• Frequent travel within Singapore and occasional overseas travel for training

• Occasional lifting up to 30kg and use of diagnostic equipment and hand tools.
