AI Code Modernization Engineer

Work location: 100% remote Start: ASAP Cooperation form: B2B with ITFS Rate: 120 -160 PLN/h + VAT Recruitment process: Short phone call with ITFS recruiter -> Technical-project interview with the Client -> Decision

Daily tasks

• Analysis of existing source code and its dependencies.
• Translation, refactoring, and modernization of code using AI tools.
• Working with legacy code as well as source and target technologies.
• Preparing and improving workflows using LLM / AI coding tools.
• Verifying the correctness, quality, and functional compliance of generated or migrated code.
• Creating and executing regression tests and comparative tests.
• Identifying bugs, limitations, and cases requiring manual intervention.
• Collaborating with developers, architects, and domain experts during the transformation process.

Requirements

Minimum 2 completed, practical projects involving code translation, refactoring, or modernization using AI. Experience working with large or complex enterprise systems; experience in core banking will be an additional asset. Very good knowledge of at least one source and target language used in the projects. Practical knowledge of LLM, AI-assisted software engineering, and AI tools supporting code work. Experience in refactoring, dependency analysis, and regression testing. Ability to assess whether the transformation preserves the business logic and functionality of the original code. Ability to independently solve technical problems and work with existing code. English language proficiency at a minimum of B2 level.
