We are looking for an experienced Senior Python Developer to work on an extensive, long-running system based on Django and Django REST Framework. This is a role for someone who independently manages a topic from architectural design to production deployment — and can do so within an existing, mature codebase. About the team You will work in a small development team, in direct contact with the client. Flat structure, short decision-making path, 100% remote work.

Daily tasks

  • Development and modernization of a large codebase in Django/DRF — incrementally, without rewrites
  • Designing and implementing APIs in DRF
  • Designing asynchronous systems: workers, queues, and background processing (Celery + RabbitMQ)
  • Designing database schemas and optimizing queries in PostgreSQL
  • Maintaining infrastructure as code (AWS + Terraform) and CI/CD pipelines (Docker, CircleCI)
  • Responsibility for architectural decisions — from design to deployment
  • Support and mentoring of other developers and conducting code reviews
  • Direct communication with the client on the technical side

Requirements

+5 years of commercial experience in Python Expert knowledge of Django and Django REST Framework Advanced SQL and experience in schema design (PostgreSQL) Experience with AWS and Terraform (infrastructure as code) Production practice with Docker and CI/CD (CircleCI or similar) Experience in designing asynchronous systems (Celery + RabbitMQ) Practice in daily work with AI coding tools (Claude Code or equivalent) English language proficiency at B2/C1 level (direct communication with the client) Documented architectural independence (from design to deployment) Comfort working with a large, mature codebase (Django 2.x/DRF) Experience in mentoring or leading developers Nice to have: Experience in JavaScript, specifically Cloudflare Workers Experience in AWS Serverless: Lambda, SQS/SNS Knowledge of "fat model" architecture in Django (logic in models and managers instead of a service layer) Swagger/OpenAPI in DRF — the project uses Audomy (an overlay on drf-spectacular)
