THE POSITION

For our client, an international ESN, we are looking for an Aerodynamics/CFD Engineer M/F, with a particular emphasis on flow simulation around aircraft and engine designs, in order to optimize performance, maneuverability, and safety.

As an aerodynamics/CFD engineer, you will be required to use computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software to analyze aerodynamic behavior, generate aerodynamic models, and provide data for the various development phases of aircraft and engines.

Your main missions will be as follows:

  • Prepare CFD meshes (example: Fluent Meshing, ICEM CFD, ANSA, or CADfix).
  • Use CFD software (such as TAU, CODA, elsA, Ansys Fluent, OpenFOAM, STAR-CCM+) to simulate flows, generate meshes, and analyze aerodynamic performance.
  • Perform post-processing of CFD solutions (example: Python scripts, Tecplot, ParaView).
  • Create aerodynamic models and databases from CFD results and experimental data (wind tunnel, flight tests).
  • Contribute to the optimization of aeronautical designs by analyzing aerodynamic behavior and identifying areas for improvement.
  • Analyze CFD results, extract insights, and present conclusions to the relevant stakeholders.
  • Mentor junior engineers within the team to integrate CFD results and contribute to the overall achievement of projects.
  • Write and validate technical reports.
  • Maintain direct working relationships with clients and team members, and represent your work during meetings with clients.

SEARCH PROFILE

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering, or a related field, with a specialization in aerodynamics.
  • Proficiency in CFD software, including meshing techniques and turbulence modeling.
  • Solid understanding of aerodynamic principles, flight mechanics, and aircraft performance.
  • Ability to analyze, interpret, and clearly present CFD results.
  • Ability to work quickly and accurately to meet client needs.
  • Good communication skills, with experience in client relations.
  • Team spirit, with the ability to collaborate effectively in a dynamic and demanding environment.
  • Proactive attitude and the ability to communicate and report at different hierarchical levels.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills in English.
  • Knowledge of programming languages such as Python, MATLAB, or equivalents for data analysis and automation is an asset.
  • Good knowledge of Unix/Linux systems is a plus.

As an "Entreprise Adaptée" (Adapted Company), given equal skills, we prioritize the hiring of individuals holding the Reconnaissance de la Qualité de Travailleur Handicapé (RQTH).
