Senior Data Analyst (Python / SQL / dbt)

About the Role We are looking for an experienced Senior Data Analyst to work on data-driven trend detection and social signal analysis. The role combines advanced analytics, data discovery, prototyping, and hands-on work with data pipelines, with a high level of autonomy and technical ownership. What we offer: Fully remote work. Daily tasks

• Owning the technical approach for extracting, analysing, and scoring trend signals and hashtags from social platforms.
• Evaluating new social data sources and assessing their potential value.
• Defining, validating, and improving analytical metrics.
• Building prototype data pipelines and analytical experiences to validate new approaches.
• Translating ambiguous business and product requirements into clear technical plans.
• Taking ownership of complex technical implementation within the project.
• Cleaning and preparing large datasets while ensuring data quality and consistency.
• Building automated tests into data pipelines to improve reliability.
• Creating quick prototypes to validate concepts with stakeholders before full implementation.
• Documenting processes and maintaining work in Jira.
• Delivering clean, reusable code, datasets, and data pipelines.
• Working closely with senior data leadership and supporting the technical direction of the workstream.
• Using AI coding tools effectively while maintaining full ownership of the quality and correctness of the output.

Requirements

5+ years of commercial experience as a Data Analyst, Analytics Engineer, or in a comparable data-focused role. Strong commercial experience with Python and SQL . Hands-on experience with dbt . Experience working with Snowflake . Experience working with large datasets, data preparation, and data quality. Ability to independently solve complex and ambiguous technical problems. Experience translating business or product requirements into technical solutions. Ability to build prototypes and validate new analytical approaches quickly. Experience with Git/GitHub . High level of autonomy, ownership, and accountability. Ability to work independently with minimal oversight. Nice to have: Experience analysing social media, web, trend, or behavioural data . Experience with Airflow . Experience with Data Vault modelling . Experience with Tableau and/or Power BI . Experience evaluating and integrating new external data sources. Practical experience using AI coding tools such as Copilot, Cursor, Codex, or Claude Code .
