Database Administrator (DBA) – SQL

Job Responsibilities Install, configure, maintain, and upgrade Microsoft SQL Server databases.

Monitor database performance, availability, capacity, and overall health.

Perform regular database backup, restore, and recovery activities.

Troubleshoot database performance issues, blocking, deadlocks, failed jobs, and connectivity problems.

Perform SQL query optimization and performance tuning .

Manage indexes, statistics, stored procedures, views, functions, and database jobs.

Configure and maintain SQL Server High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) solutions.

Support technologies such as Always On Availability Groups, Failover Clustering, Log Shipping, and Replication .

Manage database users, roles, permissions, authentication, and security policies.

Perform database migration, patching, version upgrades, and server refresh activities.

Monitor disk space, database growth, transaction logs, CPU, memory, and database utilization.

Develop and maintain scripts using T-SQL/PowerShell for database administration and automation.

Perform root-cause analysis for database incidents and implement preventive measures.

Work closely with application, infrastructure, development, and support teams.

Provide production database support and participate in on-call / after-hours support when required.

Maintain database documentation, operational procedures, and change records.

Technical Skills Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server .

Strong knowledge of T-SQL and SQL query optimization.

Experience with SQL Server Management Studio (SSMS) .

Good understanding of database architecture, indexing, execution plans, locking, blocking, and deadlocks.

Experience with backup, recovery, HA and DR solutions.

Knowledge of SQL Server Agent , maintenance plans, monitoring, and alerting.

Experience with database security and access management.

Exposure to PowerShell scripting and database automation is preferred.

Knowledge of Azure SQL Database / Azure SQL Managed Instance / AWS RDS for SQL Server is an advantage.
