We are looking for an experienced Licensed Master Electrician to provide technical leadership and supervise electrical work across commercial, industrial, institutional, solar PV, and EV charging projects throughout the GTA and Ontario.
Location:Mississauga, ON Job Type: Full-Time Pay:$45–$60/hour, depending on experience and qualifications
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise electricians and apprentices on active job sites.
- Review electrical drawings, specifications, single-line diagrams, and project scopes.
- Ensure work complies with the Ontario Electrical Safety Code (OESC), ESA requirements, and project specifications.
- Coordinate electrical work with GCs, subcontractors, engineers, consultants, utilities, suppliers, and customers.
- Assist with estimating, material take-offs, labour estimates, pricing, and quotations.
- Troubleshoot electrical systems and provide practical technical solutions.
- Coordinate manpower, materials, tools, equipment, inspections, commissioning, and project documentation.
- Support project managers with technical decisions, site coordination, deficiencies, and quality control.
- Lead electrical installation and troubleshooting for solar PV and commercial EV charging systems, including feeders, disconnects, raceways, cable trays, distribution equipment, inverters, combiner boxes, and related infrastructure.
- Support service, maintenance, emergency work, testing, commissioning, and start-up as required.
Qualifications
- Valid Ontario Master Electrician Licence – required.
- 309A Construction & Maintenance Electrician certification – required.
- Strong knowledge of the Ontario Electrical Safety Code and ESA requirements.
- Significant hands-on experience in commercial and industrial electrical construction.
- Strong ability to read electrical drawings, single-line diagrams, specifications, and architectural plans.
- Experience with electrical estimating, take-offs, load calculations, troubleshooting, and project coordination.
- Proven ability to supervise electricians and apprentices and make sound technical decisions.
- Strong communication, leadership, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Valid driver's licence and ability to travel throughout the GTA and Ontario.
Preferred Experience
Strong preference for candidates with hands-on experience in commercial/industrial electrical construction, solar PV installations, commercial EV charging infrastructure, service upgrades, electrical load calculations, ESA inspections, commissioning, troubleshooting, and electrical estimating/project take-offs.
Experience with inverters, combiner boxes, DC/AC solar systems, EV chargers, distribution equipment, feeders, disconnects, raceways, and cable tray systems is highly valued.
