Our client is seeking passionate and adaptable Bank Lecturers in English to support our English provision across our campuses on an as-needed basis. As a Bank Lecturer, you will be part of a pool of teaching staff who can be called upon to provide both short-term and longer-term teaching cover, support curriculum delivery and contribute to the continued development of English provision throughout the academic year. What You'll Do You’ll deliver engaging, inclusive English teaching across a range of programmes, helping learners build the skills and confidence to succeed. Teach and assess GCSE and Functional Skills English Plan engaging lessons for learners with diverse abilities and backgrounds Prepare learners for exams and assessments Track progress and provide constructive feedback Develop confidence in reading, writing, speaking and listening Use varied teaching and assessment strategies Maintain accurate learner records Work collaboratively with curriculum and support teams Contribute to curriculum development, quality improvement and enrichment Support learners to progress into further education, employment or higher-level study
What You'll Bring Level 3 qualification or higher in English, English Literature or a related subject, or significant relevant experience Strong English subject knowledge, including GCSE and/or Functional Skills Excellent communication, organisation and interpersonal skills A flexible, adaptable and learner-centred approach Ability to create engaging lessons that meet diverse needs Genuine commitment to developing learners’ confidence, literacy and achievement A recognised teaching qualification such as PGCE, Cert Ed or equivalent is welcomed, as is experience in Further Education, secondary, adult, vocational or community education. We also welcome applications from experienced English professionals and industry practitioners with strong subject knowledge and a passion for education. This keeps the key requirements but makes the advert feel less dense and easier to scan.
