Automation Specialist
We are seeking a proactive Automation Specialist with a robust technical foundation and a drive for continuous professional development. The ideal candidate combines sharp analytical skills with a disciplined approach to problem-solving, thriving in both collaborative team environments and autonomous machine commissioning projects. We are looking for a specialist who can bridge the gap between hardware controls and high-level software, leveraging industrial control technologies to optimize industrial infrastructure, enhance machine performance, and drive digital innovation within the manufacturing and automation sectors.
Candidate main responsibilities are:
Conduct research on emerging technologies related to PC-based control, Industry 4.0, and IoT integration.
Analyzing, troubleshooting, and providing preventative technical services for automated production lines running on industrial IPCs and controllers.
Preparing detailed reports on ongoing machine building, commissioning tasks, and project progress.
PLC and automation software installation, configuration, backup, and maintenance.
On field Automation hardware installation and configuration, including Industrial PCs, embedded controllers, and fieldbus I/O terminals.
Developing, modifying, and debugging PLC scripts and logic using IEC 61131-3 languages (primarily Structured Text).
Candidate minimal requirements are:
Educational Background: A bachelor's degree in Automation, Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
Automation Knowledge: Strong understanding of Home/Office/Building automation architectures, PLCs, IPCs, distributed I/O systems, and sensors/actuators.
Familiarity with Industrial Protocols: Deep knowledge of EtherCAT, as well as familiarity with Modbus TCP/RTU, and standard IT network protocols (TCP/IP).
Good knowledge of Operating Systems: Familiarity with operating systems such as Windows (including Windows IoT/Embedded versions used on IPCs) and TwinCAT/BSD.
Proficiency in MS Office and Engineering Tools: Skilled in utilizing digital tools to streamline workflows, document electrical/logic changes, and enhance team productivity. Basic ability to read EPLAN or AutoCAD electrical schematics.
Programming Skills: Strong knowledge of IEC 61131-3 programming languages. Basic knowledge of object-oriented languages like C++, C#, or Python, as well as familiarity with standard industrial communication protocols.
AI Tool Proficiency: Proficient in or able to effectively utilize AI tools to assist with daily automation development, coding, and troubleshooting tasks.

Project Management: A basic understanding of automation project lifecycles and Agile/Scrum methodologies can be an added advantage.
Relevant Certifications: Official automation training certifications (e.g., PLC/PAC programming, safety systems, or Motion Control) can be highly beneficial.
Knowledge of IT/OT Convergence: Basic understanding of database integration, MQTT, secure cloud connectivity, and edge computing.
Cybersecurity & Network Security: Understanding of cybersecurity principles and network security best practices to protect industrial automation systems.
Required language skills:
English and Armenian: Fluent in both languages with the ability to read complex technical manuals, draft documentation, and engage confidently in technical discussions with international partners and stakeholders.
Russian: Proficient for communication purposes. (preferred).
Required experience:
Experience in Automation field: 1-2 years of experience in Home/Building control PLC programming projects such as BMS, HVAC, lighting control and access control is required.
Experience with Automation Devices: 1-2 years of hands-on experience with Home/Building IPCs, controllers, fieldbus couplers, actuators and drive systems.
Familiarity with Automation Testing Tools: Experience with diagnostic tools for automation, network topology diagnostics, and network analyzers like Wireshark.
