About the position

For our client Siemens Energy, we are looking for an Electrical Engineering / Energy Technology Engineer with a focus on HVDC, simulation, modeling, and control engineering.

Requirements / Tasks:

To perform the task, knowledge of the simulation programs MATLAB/Simulink, PSCAD / EMTDC, and Powerfactory / Digsilent, as well as experience in the modeling of converters, is absolutely essential. Knowledge in the field of network calculation for energy supply networks, e.g., stability analyses, reactive power demand, is an advantage. After an induction phase, the task should be taken over. Modeling of HVDC systems and their control in MATLAB / Simulink. Integration of voltage-forming control concepts (direct voltage control, - Grid-Forming etc.) Modeling of an HVDC system in the simulation software PSCAD / EMTDC.

Qualification:

Experience with PSCAD and MATLAB/Simulink. Master of Engineering in Electrical and Control Engineering, preferably specializing in Energy Technology, Mechatronics, or comparable subject-specific professional experience. Good to very good knowledge in the field of power electronics and modeling of converters (HVDC, WTG, etc.) and their control, especially in the field of voltage-forming control concepts. Business fluent English skills. Intercultural experience and the ability to cooperate with internal and external partners are desirable.
