SENIOR ASSISTANT

Based on the Decision of the Scientific Council of the Institute on the announcement of the competition dated August 21, 2026, CLASS: 007-01/26-04/19, FILE NUMBER: 2163-6-11-02/1-26-1, announces

COMPETITION

• for employment in the associate position senior assistant, area of biotechnical sciences, field of agriculture, 1 executor, for work on the project and for the duration of the project of the Croatian Foundation for Science “Innovative vinification processes in the function of increasing the biological and nutritional potential of wine and by-products of vinification of autochthonous and introduced grape varieties – VinNutriVit“ (IP-2022-10-9128), for a fixed term, full-time, for a maximum duration of 13 months, with a probationary period of 3 months.

Mandatory conditions:

1. have completed postgraduate doctoral university studies and obtained the academic degree of Doctor of Science in the area of biotechnical sciences, field of food technology or agriculture

Additional conditions: excellence in previous scientific research work in the field of viticulture (work on scientific research projects, published scientific papers, participation in scientific conferences), experience working in a winery laboratory, very good knowledge of instrumental analysis techniques and extraction of volatile aroma compounds and phenolic compounds in wine (HS-SPME-GC-MS, GC×GC/MS-TOF, GC-FID, HPLC-DAD, HPLC-FLD, UV/Vis spectrophotometry), candidate motivation, good knowledge of English in speech and writing and category B driving license.

Along with a hand-signed application, the following must be attached:

1. motivation letter,
2. curriculum vitae,
3. proof of completed graduate studies,
4. proof of obtained academic degree of Doctor of Science in the appropriate area and field,
5. summary of scientific and professional activity with a list of works,
6. evidence of fulfillment of additional conditions (if applicable).

Candidates must fulfill the criteria for selection to the job position assigned by the Act on Higher Education and Scientific Activity (NN 119/22).

Candidates who obtained their higher education qualification abroad must attach to the application an Opinion on the evaluation of the foreign higher education qualification issued by the Agency for Science and Higher Education or a Certificate of the initiation of the procedure for the evaluation of the foreign higher education qualification by the Agency for Science and Higher Education.

A complete application is considered one that is hand-signed and contains all the data and attachments specified in the public competition.

A person who has not submitted a timely or complete application or does not fulfill the formal conditions of the public competition shall not be considered a candidate in the public competition procedure.

By submitting an application to the competition, candidates expressly agree that the Institute for Agriculture and Tourism, as the controller of the personal data collection, may collect, use, and further process the data for the purpose of conducting the competition procedure in accordance with the regulations governing the protection of personal data.

Candidates who exercise a preference in employment based on special regulations are obliged in the application for the competition to refer to that right and attach all evidence that special regulations prescribe for the exercise of said right. Preference in employment for this competition will be exercised in relation to other candidates only under equal conditions, determined by this competition.

Candidates who exercise the right of preference in employment based on Article 102 of the Act on Croatian Defenders of the Homeland War and Members of Their Families (NN 121/17, 98/19, 84/21, 156/23) are obliged in the application for the competition to refer to that right and attach all evidence for the exercise of the stated right and shall have preference over other candidates only under equal conditions. Candidates who invoke the right of preference in employment in accordance with Article 9 of the Act on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities (NN 157/13, 152/14, 39/18, 32/20) are obliged, along with the application for the competition, in addition to proof of fulfillment of the requested conditions, to attach also proof of established status as a person with a disability.

The selected candidate will be invited to submit, within an appropriate deadline, the original copies of other proofs of fulfillment of the formal conditions from the public competition, with a warning that failure to provide the requested documents is considered a withdrawal from the establishment of the employment relationship.

The professional commission for the implementation of the public competition is appointed by the Scientific Council of the Institute for Agriculture and Tourism.

If necessary, a check of knowledge and skills will be carried out through written and/or oral testing, an interview and/or conversation, and information regarding the content and method of testing, the interview and/or conversation, the sources for candidate preparation, and the place and time of holding will be provided on the Institute's website: www.iptpo.hr. Candidates who do not attend the check of knowledge and skills through testing, an interview and/or conversation will be considered to have withdrawn their application to the competition and will not be considered candidates of the competition. The time and place of testing will be published at least five (5) days before the day designated for testing on the website of the Institute for Agriculture and Tourism: www.iptpo.hr.

If no persons who fulfill the basic prescribed conditions apply for the public competition, or if the applicants do not satisfy the testing, the Director of the Institute will suspend the procedure for this competition.

The Institute reserves the right, partially or in its entirety, to cancel the competition and reserves the right not to make a decision on the selection of candidates without special explanation.

The delivery of the decision to all candidates is considered completed upon the expiration of the eighth day from the publication on the website of the Institute for Agriculture and Tourism: www.iptpo.hr.

Persons of both sexes have the right to apply to the competition under equal conditions.

Incomplete and untimely applications will not be considered.

Unselected candidates may submit an objection to the decision on the selection of another candidate to the Head of the Institute.

The deadline for submitting applications to the competition is 30 days from the day of publication in Narodne novine.

Applications to the competition and evidence of fulfillment of criteria are submitted in electronic form to the e-mail natjecaj@iptpo.hr with the note “Prijava na natječaj za radno mjesto viši asistent – naznačiti naziv projekta“.

Candidates will be informed of the competition results by publication via the Institute's website www.iptpo.hr.
