This is an outstanding opportunity for either an experienced Underwriter or a strong Senior Underwriter looking to step up into a role with greater market exposure, broker ownership and influence over regional growth. This is a genuinely broker-facing, new business-focused opportunity, offering the chance to build and develop a profitable portfolio across the Scottish market. You'll join a business that combines market-leading underwriting expertise with a culture that empowers individuals to make decisions, develop relationships and drive growth.

Your tasks

The Opportunity You'll be joining a dedicated New Business team focused on underwriting Property & Casualty risks across the Mid-Market and Mid-Corporate space. Working closely with brokers across Scotland and the North of England, you'll be responsible for identifying opportunities, building relationships and delivering profitable growth.

The role offers exposure to a varied mid-market and mid-corporate portfolio, with average premiums around £40,000 and responsibility for developing a profitable book of business through strong broker relationships and effective underwriting decisions.

Requirements

You'll have Property & Casualty underwriting experience gained within an insurer or MGA environment, alongside strong broker relationship management skills and a commercial mindset. We're open to experienced Underwriters as well as ambitious Senior Underwriters looking for the next step in their career. Existing broker relationships within Scotland would be beneficial, although they are by no means essential. The successful individual will be proactive, commercially minded and enjoy developing broker relationships, identifying opportunities and trading effectively to achieve profitable growth. Why Join? This is an excellent opportunity to join a globally recognised insurer with a strong reputation in the market and a genuine commitment to investing in underwriting talent. You'll benefit from:
