Software Engineering Intern
Position Summary You will support the product and development team in building and enhancing a public-facing digital platform using modern software engineering practices. Through this internship, you will gain hands-on experience in application development, agile delivery, cloud technologies, cybersecurity awareness, and DevOps practices while working alongside product managers, software engineers, and technical specialists. Key Responsibilities Software Engineering Support Contribute to the development, testing, and enhancement of platform features and applications. Apply secure-by-design principles and secure coding practices under the guidance of the software engineering team. Assist the team in understanding product requirements and translating them into technical tasks or simple solution components. Participate in coding, debugging, testing, and troubleshooting activities. Assist with API integration, data processing, and system configuration tasks where applicable. Contribute to the preparation of technical documentation, user guides, and development artefacts. Participate in agile ceremonies such as sprint planning, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
Quality Assurance and Technical Support Assist in preparing and executing test cases. Support user acceptance testing (UAT) and defect tracking activities. Help investigate, reproduce, and document system issues. Review system logs under supervision and assist with investigating and resolving issues. What You Will Learn In this role, you will: Gain hands-on experience in the end-to-end software development lifecycle. Learn modern software engineering practices, including agile delivery, version control, and CI/CD, and gain exposure to deploying and operating applications in cloud environments. Understand how software solutions are released, configured, monitored, and supported in production environments. Gain exposure to cybersecurity, application security, and secure coding principles. Learn how software engineers collaborate with product managers, designers, business users, and technical teams. Build practical skills using industry-standard software engineering tools and frameworks. Requirements Pursuing a Diploma or Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related discipline. Interest in software engineering and technology innovation. Basic proficiency in Java, with exposure to JavaScript or Python considered advantageous. Familiarity with Git or platforms such as GitHub or GitLab would be advantageous. Exposure to cloud platforms, APIs, web development, or databases would be beneficial. Curious mindset with a willingness to learn and experiment.
Internship Period Preferred engagement period: December 2026 to July 2027. Full-time or part-time arrangements may be considered, depending on availability and internship requirements.
