GCP Cloud Automation Engineer / SRE

We are looking for a hands-on GCP Cloud Automation Engineer / SRE to build, automate, and enhance cloud platform capabilities across a Google Cloud environment.

The role will focus on cloud automation, platform engineering, observability, reliability, and self-service enablement, helping to improve scalability, operational efficiency, and reduce manual effort.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop and maintain automation solutions for GCP platform operations.
• Build self-service capabilities for application onboarding, infrastructure provisioning and cloud operations.
• Automate deployment, operational, and monitoring processes to improve efficiency and consistency.
• Develop and enhance monitoring, logging, alerting, and observability capabilities.
• Improve platform reliability, resilience, scalability, and operational readiness.
• Support and troubleshoot GKE/Kubernetes-based platforms and cloud-native services.
• Develop and maintain CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Implement Infrastructure as Code and automation best practices.
• Work closely with platform, application, security, and infrastructure teams to deliver scalable and reliable cloud solutions.
• Participate in incident management, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of cloud operations.

Required Skills & Experience

• 7+ years of hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
• Strong experience in cloud automation and scripting using Python, Bash, or similar languages.
• Hands-on experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC), preferably Terraform.
• Strong Kubernetes / GKE administration, troubleshooting, and operational experience.
• Experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines and deployment automation.
• Good knowledge of monitoring, logging, and observability tools and practices.
• Strong understanding of cloud operations, incident management, and reliability engineering.
• Good understanding of cloud-native architecture and platform engineering practices.

Good to Have

• Experience working in an SRE / Site Reliability Engineering environment.
• Experience with Vertex AI or modern AI/cloud platforms.
• Knowledge of cloud security, IAM, and access management.
• Exposure to FinOps, cloud cost optimisation, and resource efficiency.
