Control-M Administrator / Control-M Support SME

We are looking for an experienced Control-M Administrator / Support SME to manage, support, and enhance the Control-M scheduling platform in an enterprise environment.
The role focuses on Control-M platform administration, automation, integration support, platform upgrades, and L2/L3 production support. You will work closely with application, infrastructure, security, network, and vendor teams to ensure platform stability, availability, and operational efficiency.
This role operates within a 24x7 support environment, including shift rotations, on-call support, and major incident management.
Key Responsibilities
Control-M Administration & Platform Support
- Administer and maintain Control-M Enterprise Manager, Control-M Server, and Agents.
- Manage Control-M configurations, security settings, calendars, resources, alerts, notifications, and escalation mechanisms.
- Monitor platform health, agent connectivity, availability, and performance.
- Perform Control-M upgrades, patching, hotfixes, migrations, and lifecycle management.
- Conduct post-upgrade validation and resolve compatibility or configuration issues.
- Perform performance tuning, optimization, and capacity planning.
- Troubleshoot and resolve platform-level incidents affecting scheduling services.
- Support High Availability (HA), Disaster Recovery (DR), and failover activities.
- Work with BMC Support on product issues, defect analysis, and escalations.
- Maintain SOPs, technical documentation, configuration baselines, and operational procedures.
Control-M Integration Support
- Support Control-M integrations with enterprise applications and external systems.
- Troubleshoot connectivity, API, authentication, authorization, and configuration issues.
- Support integration with monitoring, observability, and ITSM platforms.
- Validate integrations following configuration changes, upgrades, and deployments.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, security, and network teams to resolve cross-functional issues.
Automation & Infrastructure as Code
- Develop automation solutions using Ansible and/or Terraform.
- Develop and maintain scripts using Python, PowerShell, and Linux/Unix Shell.
- Create reusable automation workflows, playbooks, and scripts to reduce manual operational effort.
- Support Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) practices for consistent and scalable platform management.
- Apply source control and automation best practices.
- Experience with Control-M Automation API and Job-as-Code (JaaC) is highly desirable.
Incident, Problem & Change Management
- Provide L2/L3 support for Control-M platform and integration-related incidents.
- Perform root cause analysis and implement permanent solutions for recurring issues.
- Support change, release, and deployment activities.
- Participate in Problem Management and Continuous Service Improvement initiatives.
- Ensure compliance with established change and operational processes.
24x7 Production Support
- Participate in 24x7 shift and on-call support rotations.
- Support major incident management and critical production recovery.
- Ensure adherence to SLA and platform availability targets.
- Participate in DR testing and business continuity exercises.
Mandatory Skills & Experience
- 5–10 years of hands-on Control-M Administration / Support experience.
- Strong experience with Control-M Enterprise Manager, Control-M Server, and Agents.
- Experience in Control-M upgrades, patching, migration, HA and DR.
- Hands-on experience with Control-M Automation API.
- Strong troubleshooting and L2/L3 production support experience.
- Hands-on experience with Ansible and/or Terraform.
- Strong scripting skills in Python, PowerShell, and/or Shell scripting.
- Good knowledge of Linux/Unix administration.
- Experience in integration support and API troubleshooting.
- Experience working in a 24x7 production support environment.
Preferred Skills
- Control-M Job-as-Code (JaaC).
- Managed File Transfer (MFT).
- Cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- CI/CD and DevOps practices.
- Monitoring and observability tools.
- BMC Control-M certification.
