CPSL Technician

The client is a French industrial company specializing in the design and manufacture of railway equipment. Located in Reichshoffen, Alsace, it participates in the production of regional trains intended for the French and international markets.

The client relies on recognized industrial expertise and specialized teams in the railway sector. It is thus an important player in the railway industry and employment in the region.

The business context: what is CPSL? CPSL = Contrôle de Production et Soutien à la Ligne (Production Control and Line Support). It is a pivotal function between the production management information system (ERP/SAP) and the physical reality of the workshop. The CPSL technician is, in a sense, the "guarantor of consistency" between what the system says and what is actually happening on the manufacturing line. Concretely, what does a typical day look like? Managing Production Orders (OF) in SAP: opening an OF when a series starts, tracking its progress throughout production, and closing it once completed. The same applies to rework OFs (when a part needs to be reworked) or modification OFs (when a technical evolution is applied). Acting as the link between system ↔ field: if the system says 10 parts remain to be consumed but the workshop has physically used 12, it is the CPSL technician who identifies the discrepancy, investigates it, and corrects the data (this is the famous "transcoding"). Troubleshooting for operators: when a production operator does not know which component to consume on which OF, or encounters a system anomaly, they turn to the CPSL. Monitoring "line-side" stocks: small buffer stocks positioned directly on the line — ensuring they correspond to what SAP indicates. Tracking shortages: when a part is missing at the end of the line, understanding why (system error? actual stockout?) and ensuring the reliability of the information flow.

SAP Expert level (5/5): this is the daily work tool, not a bonus — without true SAP mastery (likely the PP module), the person cannot do the job. Excel Expert + Power BI: a lot of monitoring, reporting, and cross-referencing data between theoretical and actual stock. No manual technical skills (welding, wiring, etc.): this is not an operator or "field" methods technician position, but an administrative/data management position in contact with production — hence also the "NO" on all mechanical/CAD skills. English + Spanish level 3: probably related to the CAF environment (international group, exchanges with other sites or group reporting). Project management, priorities, teamwork: the position involves juggling several OFs in parallel and coordinating with Production, Logistics, and Quality simultaneously.
