HV Circuit Breaker Specialist

The client is a leading Energy Company 

-Purpose:

The aim is to extend and upgrade five existing high-voltage (HV) electrical substations as a turnkey project.

This technical service will be carried out in Nigeria. This location could be changed according to the progress of the work and the project needs.

-Scope of Work:

The HV Circuit Breaker Specialist (132 kV and 330 kV) shall be moved to one of the Substation sites 

Main Goals

-Represent 132 kV and 330 kV circuit breaker installation, testing and commissioning activities.

-Ensure safe and compliant installation, testing and commissioning of HV circuit breakers.

-Support Ready for Commissioning (RFC) and Energization.

-Coordinate installation and commissioning interfaces with HV, P&C and Customer teams.

-Deliver reliable and fully documented commissioned circuit breakers.

Deliverables:

-Review installation, testing and commissioning procedures, drawings and vendor documentation.

-Supervise pre-installation inspections and verify circuit breaker readiness.

-Supervise installation and assembly of 132 kV and 330 kV circuit breakers in accordance with approved drawings and OEM instructions.

-Supervise and perform circuit breaker timing, contact resistance and operating mechanism tests using the OMICRON CIBANO 500, CMC 356, CMC 256 plus….; witness insulation and SF6 tests where applicable.

-Supervise functional tests, interlocks, alarms and trip/close sequence verification.

-Verify protection interfaces, SCADA signals and control system integration.

-Record test results and prepare commissioning reports and checklists.

-Support SAT, customer inspections and energization activities.

-Identify defects, manage punch lists and support corrective actions.

-Ensure compliance with Company’s HSE, QA/QC and commissioning procedures.

-Support final handover documentation and as-built records.

-Approved installation, testing and commissioning procedures.

-Engineering drawings and technical documentation.

-Project specifications and contractual documentation.

Requirements for Technical Services

Minimum 7 years of experience in HV circuit breaker installation, testing and commissioning.

-Experience with 132 kV and 330 kV AIS/GIS circuit breakers.

-Knowledge of HV circuit breaker mechanisms and applicable testing methods, with proven ability to operate the OMICRON CIBANO 500, CMC 356, CMC 256 plus ….

-Knowledge of IEC standards and OEM procedures; relevant training certificates mandatory.

-English mandatory.
