Deputy Project Manager, Nuclear Domain

In an industrial environment with high requirements for safety, quality, and traceability, our client is looking for a Deputy Project Manager to support the management of projects related to the manufacturing, procurement, and delivery of equipment intended for the nuclear sector. Integrated within the nuclear project team, the Deputy Project Manager acts in support of the project execution manager and contributes to the smooth running of projects, in compliance with contractual commitments, deadlines, costs, quality requirements, and HSE rules. The position involves strong coordination with internal production, purchasing, supply chain, quality, and logistics teams, as well as with external suppliers and partners. The use of SAP is an integral part of activity monitoring.
Main Missions
Project Management Organize and monitor project execution from launch to closure. Monitor project progress in relation to the schedule, scope, costs, and budget. Ensure compliance with contractual commitments and project obligations. Identify risks and opportunities, then implement the necessary action plans. Contribute to the financial performance of the project: turnover, margin, cash flow, forecasts, and profitability.
Cross-functional Coordination Ensure the daily interface between different stakeholders: Production / workshop Purchasing & supply chain Quality & nuclear safety Logistics Suppliers and subcontractors Project teams and internal clients Participate in schedule monitoring meetings, progress reviews, and ensure clear communication with all internal and external interlocutors.
Quality, Nuclear Safety & Compliance Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements related to the nuclear sector. Guarantee documentary traceability and monitoring of quality milestones. Ensure consistency between the project schedule and quality requirements: hold points, inspections, releases, end-of-manufacturing files. Contribute to the reliability of data in SAP: routings, lead times, statuses, progress. Implement corrective actions in case of deviation from processes, quality requirements, or governance rules.
HSE & Cybersecurity Apply and enforce HSE rules as well as nuclear safety culture principles. Ensure compliance with safety rules by project teams, suppliers, subcontractors, and partners. Identify, assess, and monitor cybersecurity risks in connection with suppliers, service providers, and subcontractors.
Reporting & Continuous Improvement Produce performance indicators: OTD, milestone compliance, delay rate, project progress. Prepare clear reports for management and project teams. Participate in continuous improvement processes aimed at reducing lead times, improving schedule reliability, and strengthening project performance. Contribute to the sharing of feedback and best practices within project teams.
Technical Skills Mastery of industrial planning and/or supply chain processes. Good command of MS Project or an equivalent planning tool. Solid practice of SAP, ideally on MM, PP and possibly SD modules. Ability to read and analyze schedules, bills of materials, and manufacturing routings. Good knowledge of industrial processes in a factory environment: machining, assembly, welding, control, inspection, manufacturing. Comfort with integrated digital tools and numerical solutions allowing for improved performance and operational efficiency.
Nuclear Knowledge Knowledge of specific requirements in the nuclear sector: quality, traceability, documentation, regulatory compliance. Knowledge of the ISO 19443 standard is highly appreciated. Strong nuclear safety culture. Documentary rigor and strict respect for procedures.

Required Profile Master's degree (Bac+5), ideally in engineering, project management, supply chain, or an equivalent technical field. Minimum 5 years of experience in planning, industrial expediting, project coordination, or production management. Experience in the nuclear, defense, energy, or heavy industry sector is strongly desired. Good understanding of industrial environments with high quality, safety, and traceability requirements. Excellent command of English is indispensable in an international context.

Location Position based in Grenoble, within an industrial site with high technical expertise.
