Production Team Manager (Back Panel Manager)

IKEA Industry is the largest producer of wooden furniture in the world. We manufacture furniture from solid wood and wood-based panels for IKEA store customers. We produce for IKEA and are therefore sometimes called "IKEA's own production."

IKEA Industry has 32 production units located in 16 locations in 7 countries: Poland, Slovakia, Portugal, Sweden, Lithuania, China, and Hungary. Our operations include forestry, sawmills, panel production, components, and furniture. IKEA culture and values shape everything we do. At IKEA Industry Orla, we specialize in the production of modern, ultra-thin HDF panels. Our plant operates a CTS department, where panels are precisely cut to specific dimensions, as well as a sawmill, where we produce lumber.

Currently, our factory is developing a new production area dedicated to manufacturing furniture back panels. The recruitment process, in which we invite you to participate, offers the opportunity to co-create a team for this new area.

TASKS:

• Managing the Back Panel Department's operations by planning, organizing, and supervising production processes to ensure the fulfillment of production plans in accordance with safety, quality, cost, and delivery requirements.
• Ensuring compliance with occupational safety standards, environmental protection, and applicable procedures, rules, and legal requirements.
• Responsibility for achieving the department's business goals by monitoring KPIs, analyzing results, and initiating corrective and improvement actions.
• Managing the department budget and ensuring the efficient use of production resources, materials, machines, and equipment.
• Building, developing, and supporting leaders and employees through coaching, feedback, training, succession planning, and competency development.
• Ensuring the proper functioning of quality processes by monitoring product compliance with requirements and implementing corrective and preventive actions.
• Initiating and conducting activities related to the continuous improvement of production processes, elimination of waste, and increasing efficiency in accordance with the IKEA Production System (IPS) principles.
• Collaborating with Production, Quality, EHS, Maintenance, Supply Chain, and other organizational units to achieve common business goals.
• Ensuring effective communication of business goals, results, organizational changes, and expectations for the team, building a culture of openness and cooperation.
• Representing the department during internal and external audits and ensuring process compliance with IKEA requirements, applicable regulations, and quality standards.
• Building a culture of responsibility, cooperation, and continuous improvement through leadership based on IKEA values.

EXPECTATIONS FOR CANDIDATES:

• Higher technical education (wood technology, production engineering, mechanics, or related fields).
• Management experience in a production environment and in developing production leaders.
• Knowledge of processes related to the processing and finishing of wood-based panels will be an additional asset.
• Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing and continuous improvement tools.
• Experience in budget management and achieving business indicators.
• Knowledge of ERP/MES systems and data analysis tools.
• Good command of English, enabling work in an international environment.
• Ability to manage change, make decisions, and build effective cross-functional cooperation.
• Highly developed leadership, communication, and organizational competencies.
