MANAGER OF CRYOGENIC PLANT

Based on Art. 29 of the Statute of the Institute of Physics, Art. 3 para. 4, Art. 4 para. 4 and Art. 7 para. 1 of the Ordinance on the announcement and implementation of public competitions for the purpose of employment at the Institute of Physics and the Decision of the Director dated August 31, 2026, Class: 002-22/26-02/2/27, Urbroj: 2, the director of the Institute of Physics announces:

COMPETITION

A competition is announced for the following job position:

Ad 1.

One executor (m/f) for the vacant job position of manager of a type II organizational unit, a third-level management job, a type II job – Manager of the Cryogenic Plant, for an indefinite period, full-time with a probationary period

Requirements:

• completed university undergraduate study or professional undergraduate study in the field of technical sciences
• knowledge of the English language

Job description:

organizes the work of the sub-section, ensures reliable and regular operation of the helium liquefier, operates and maintains the liquefier, organizes the distribution of cryogenic liquids (liquid helium and liquid nitrogen) to users, participates in the assembly, maintenance, and disassembly of cryogenic equipment at the Institute, maintains records of the consumption of energy sources, water, gases, and cryogenic liquids during the operation of the helium liquefier, and performs other tasks as ordered by superiors. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in working with liquefied gases.

The salary is regulated by the Decree on job titles, conditions for distribution, and coefficients for salary calculation in public services (NN 22/2024).

Along with the application, candidates are required to submit:

• a curriculum vitae indicating the candidate's advantages and experience,
• proof of professional qualifications (copy of the diploma),
• proof of knowledge of the English language (copy of high school or university certificate or a language school/course certificate),
• other evidence proving the possession of advantages, if the candidate possesses them.

Candidates who meet the competition requirements will be invited for an interview and may be tested.

Applications for the competition are submitted in electronic form, within 20 days of publication on the Croatian Employment Service and on the Institute's website, to the e-mail address: natjecaj@ifs.hr or via the application link.

A timely application is considered an application that contains all the data and attachments specified in the competition. Untimely and untidy applications will not be considered, nor will the submitters of untidy applications be called to supplement their application. Persons who submit untimely and untidy applications or do not meet the formal requirements of the competition are not considered candidates applied for the competition.

If a candidate exercises the right of advantage in employment according to a special law, they are obliged to refer to that right in the application for the competition and have priority over other candidates only under equal conditions.

Candidates exercising the right to employment advantage according to Art. 102 of the Act on Croatian Homeland War Veterans and their family members (NN 121/17, 98/19, 84/21, 156/23), Art. 48 of the Act on Civil Victims of the Homeland War (NN 84/21) must, along with the application for the competition, in addition to proof of meeting the required conditions, attach all necessary evidence available at the link of the Ministry of Croatian Veterans: https://branitelji.gov.hr/zaposljavanje-843/843.

Candidates exercising employment advantages according to Art. 9 of the Act on Professional Rehabilitation and Employment of Persons with Disabilities (NN 157/13, 152/14, 39/18, 32/20) and Art. 48.f of the Act on the Protection of Military and Civil War Disabled Persons (NN 33/92, 57/92, 77/92, 27/93, 58/93, 02/94, 76/94, 108/95, 108/96, 82/01, 103/03, 148/13, 98/19) are obliged in the application for the public competition to refer to that right of employment advantage in relation to other candidates, only under equal conditions.

In accordance with Article 13 of the Act on Gender Equality, persons of both sexes may apply for the competition.

Applicants will be informed of the results of the competition within the legal deadline.
