Commercial Finance Manager

Milton Keynes - Hybrid 12-Month FTC £45,000-£55,000 + Bonus & Benefits We're working with a large international engineering business looking for a commercially minded finance professional to take ownership of finance across an established operational division. This is a broad role sitting between management accounting, commercial finance and business partnering . You'll work closely with senior operational and commercial stakeholders, providing the numbers, analysis and challenge behind pricing, profitability and wider business decisions. The Commercial Finance Manager role You'll take responsibility for: Monthly management accounts and financial reporting Budgeting, forecasting and variance analysis Margin and profitability analysis Balance sheet reconciliations and financial controls Commercial pricing and tender analysis Monitoring revenue, pipeline, stock and operational performance Providing financial insight to senior commercial and operational stakeholders Identifying risks, opportunities and areas for improved performance Supporting commercial decisions with clear financial analysis Working closely with sales and operational teams Supporting external audit requirements Improving reporting and management information It's a good mix of hands-on accounting and genuinely commercial finance , rather than a role where business partnering means producing a spreadsheet and emailing it to somebody. About you We're open-minded on industry background. You'll ideally be: CIMA / ACCA qualified, recently qualified or a strong finalist Comfortable producing management accounts Commercially minded and able to interpret the numbers rather than simply report them Confident working directly with non-finance stakeholders Experienced with budgeting, forecasting and profitability analysis Strong with Excel and large datasets Experience with Power BI, commercial pricing, inventory or product-led businesses would be useful but isn't essential.
