About the Role A leading insurance company is seeking an experienced Senior Financial Accountant to join their Finance team in London. You will be responsible for the preparation and review of financial, regulatory and tax reporting across the group, working with a direct report and supporting a collaborative, supportive team environment. Key Responsibilities Prepare and review financial statements (UK GAAP and IFRS) for insurance and management companies on a quarterly and annual basis Prepare combined and consolidated financial statements and regulatory returns for multiple jurisdictions Lead liaison with external audit, including co-ordination with local and component auditors Manage monthly trial balance reviews, reconciliations and intercompany matrix reviews Liaise with tax consultants on corporation tax, VAT and international tax returns across multiple jurisdictions Member of Finance and Compliance committees; undertake ad hoc duties as reasonably requested Requirements Qualified chartered accountant with at least five years' post-qualified experience Strong knowledge of insurance company balance sheets and standalone/consolidated financial statements Experience preparing Solvency II or other regulatory returns Proven experience working in insurance (either directly or in an audit capacity) Strong analytical skills and exposure to other insurance functions (actuarial, treasury, underwriting, claims, reinsurance) Technical accounting knowledge with experience of multiple reporting currencies and intercompany reconciliations Experience using accounting systems; CODA knowledge desirable but not essential What's On Offer Collaborative, supportive and friendly working environment with a people-centred culture Competitive hybrid working policy and work-life balance initiatives Clear career pathway with ongoing support to develop skills and create development opportunities Attractive benefits: private healthcare, generous employer pension contribution, health subsidy and comprehensive wellbeing programme
