Role Description The Presenter (National Service Position) is a full-time, on-site role based in Accra. The Presenter will host news and current affairs segments, introduce stories, and conduct interviews with guests both in studio and on location. Daily tasks include researching topics, preparing scripts or talking points, collaborating with producers and reporters to ensure accurate and engaging content, and delivering clear on-air presentations. The role also involves engaging audiences across digital platforms, supporting live coverage of events, and adhering to editorial guidelines and journalistic standards. The Presenter will work closely with the editorial and production teams to ensure consistent, high-quality programming that reflects Insight Ghana’s mission.

Qualifications

Strong verbal communication, clear articulation, and confident on-air or public speaking skills. Research, script preparation, and story development abilities to support accurate and engaging presentations. Understanding of news, current affairs, and socio-political issues in Ghana and across Africa. Basic digital media skills, including familiarity with online news platforms and social media engagement. Ability to work collaboratively with editorial and production teams and adapt in a fast-paced newsroom environment. Excellent time management, reliability, and professionalism in representing the organization on and off air. National Service eligibility in Ghana; a degree or diploma in Journalism, Communications, Media Studies, or related field is an advantage. Prior experience in presenting, broadcasting, or public speaking is beneficial but not mandatory; commitment to ethical journalism is essential.
