HOST STRUCTURE
The U1235-TENS unit (The Enteric Nervous System in gut and brain disorders) was founded in 2008 by Dr. Michel Neunlist. Its objective is to study the role of the enteric nervous system in intestinal and brain disorders, from the molecular level to the cellular level up to the patient level. TENS is part of the Faculté de médecine of the Université de Nantes and is physically located on the university's main campus. At this location, it is also physically close to the hospital, which houses several clinical departments with which it collaborates (Maladies digestives, Neurologie, Biochimie, Réadaptation Physique et Médicale).
MAIN MISSION
The recruited person's mission will be to perform animal experiments and the analysis of generated samples under the direction of V. Moullé, postdoctoral researcher, and M. Neunlist, laboratory director. This project is part of a research axis interested in the effects of bacterial metabolites on the intestinal epithelial barrier in the context of digestive inflammation and Alzheimer's disease.
The candidate will be supervised by the two researchers responsible for this project funded by the Next program (Nantes Excellence Trajectory). This project will allow for the in vivo validation of data obtained on cellular models.
MAIN ACTIVITIES
- Preparation of animal experiments: treatment; tubes
- Management of animal experiments: monitoring of animal cohorts; renewal of treatments; sample collection
- Biochemical and molecular analysis of generated samples
