Inserm is recruiting a POST-DOCTORAL FELLOW specialized in biomathematics/health economics, as part of the European project JOINT ACTION SHIELD (_Strategies for Health Interventions to Eliminate Infection-related Cancer_).

Your mission will contribute to the evaluation of screening and treatment strategies aimed at reducing cancers linked to human papillomavirus (HPV) infections, hepatitis B and C viruses (HBV and HCV), as well as the human immunodeficiency virus (HIV).

THE PROJECT AND THE TEAM

You will join the INSERM UMR 1137 IAME (_Infection, Antimicrobials, Modelling, Evolution_), within the PREVIST team (_Pathogenesis, treatment and prevention strategies of viral infections and sexually transmitted infections_).

The SHIELD project aims to compare several intervention strategies using disease-specific models, in order to measure their impact on:

  • Morbidity and mortality related to these infections.
  • Healthcare costs.
  • Prevention of cancers of infectious origin in Europe.

You will work primarily on the evaluation of HEPATITIS C VIRUS (HCV) SCREENING AND TREATMENT strategies.

YOUR MISSIONS

Under the responsibility of the project team, you will be responsible for:

  • Constructing a mathematical model of HCV infection transmission and progression.
  • Conducting a literature review to identify and extract the data necessary to feed the mathematical model.
  • Conducting statistical analyses from databases to estimate model parameters.
  • Performing the economic evaluation of different intervention strategies.
  • Participating in the promotion of the project's scientific and economic results.
  • Ensuring scientific and technological monitoring in your field of activity.
  • Supervising Master 2 students and doctoral students.
  • Formatting and presenting results to project partners.

Profile sought:

  • Data collection, analysis, and processing methods.
  • Programming with Python, R or C++.

JOB INFORMATION

Fixed-term contract (CDD) of one year, renewable up to a maximum duration of three years.

Full time, 38h30, 32 days of annual leave and 12 RTT

TELEWORKABLE ACTIVITIES: 1 to 2 per week, subject to agreement with the supervisor.

REMUNERATION: From €2,997.20 gross monthly, depending on professional experience in equivalent level positions.
