BIOLOGICAL EXPERIMENTATION AND INSTRUMENTATION ENGINEER - M/F

Description:

We are recruiting an engineer as part of a research project dedicated to the analysis and characterization of cellular and viral factors involved in the assembly of the Crimean-Congo hemorrhagic fever virus.

In this capacity, the engineer will be responsible for studying the role of the viral proteins GP38 and NSm, as well as that of cellular proteins identified in connection with the results obtained by the consortium partners. He or she will also contribute to the evaluation of the antiviral activity of molecules developed as part of the project, relying on experimental characterization approaches.

Activities:

• Development and implementation of protocols
• Producing viral particles by cell transfection using a reverse genetics system (handled in BSL-2)
• Participating in the characterization of proviral factors through cell biology, molecular biology, imaging, and biochemistry experiments
• Ensuring the formatting and presentation of results in team meetings and/or seminars
• Participation in common team tasks
• Working in BSL-1 and BSL-2

Profile sought:

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

• You hold a Master's degree in biology.
• You have at least 2 years of experience in a similar position.
• Experience in virology is an asset

KNOWLEDGE

• Practical knowledge of human cell line culture techniques.
• Knowledge of hygiene and safety regulations applicable in a C2 level containment laboratory.
• Knowledge of virology and regulations regarding the handling of human pathogens.
• Mastery of data collection, analysis, and processing.
• Scientific English: good understanding and expression, both written and oral.

TECHNICAL SKILLS

• Mastery of cell culture techniques.
• Mastery of molecular biology techniques (RT-qPCR, cloning.).
• Mastery of protein analysis techniques (Western blot, immunoprecipitation.).
• Ability to analyze, format, and present experimental results.
