ABOUT THE UNIT:

The DéTROI (Diabète athérothrombose, Thérapies, Réunion Océan Indien) unit is a joint research unit composed of a team of nearly 35 people. Scientists and clinicians work closely together on preventive and therapeutic axes for metabolic pathologies such as diabetes, obesity, or dyslipidemias, as well as cardiovascular complications associated with atherothrombosis.

MAIN MISSION:

The recruited person's main mission will be to assay circulating biomarkers in plasma samples from hypercholesterolemic patients. They will also be responsible for the maintenance of a cell line and processing this line according to an established laboratory protocol, then collecting extracts as well as supernatants, and then measuring protein expression by western blot and ELISA in these biological samples.

ACTIVITIES:

  • Immunological assays (ELISA)
  • Western Blot
  • Cell culture (maintenance of lines, transfections, extractions)

JOB ENVIRONMENT:

The experimental work corresponds to the PerMedFH project which is funded by the _La Caixa_ foundation and will be carried out in the DéTROI laboratory premises (culture room, biochemistry room).

Profile sought:

KNOWLEDGE:

  • Knowledge of lipid and lipoprotein metabolism
  • Knowledge of biochemistry and cell biology techniques
  • Knowledge of hygiene and safety regulations
  • Knowledge of good laboratory practices

SKILLS:

  • Ability to write and present scientific data rigorously
  • Mastery of immunological assays, western blots
  • Ability to interact effectively with the various scientific stakeholders of the project
  • Mastery of cell culture

SOFT SKILLS:

  • Rigor
  • Autonomy
  • Team spirit
  • Organizational skills

EXPERIENCE LEVEL:

Initial experience in biochemistry and molecular biology is desired.

EDUCATION LEVEL:

  • At least a Bac + 3 level in the field
  • At least a B2 or C1 level in English
