POSTDOCTORAL RESEARCHER IN NEURO-IMMUNOLOGY - M/F
INSERM : UMR 1141 - NEURODIDEROT, PARIS 19E
The position is located within UMR 1141 - NEURODIDEROT (Inserm and Université Paris Cité), situated at the Hôpital Robert Debré in Paris (19th arrondissement). This unit focuses on understanding the mechanisms that alter the functioning of the developing brain. You will join the 3IBrain team, created in 2025, which operates at the interface of neuroscience-immunology in humans and preclinical models.
JOB DESCRIPTION AND MISSIONS:
The recruited researcher will be the primary scientific executor of the ANR JCJC SPLENIC-NET project. This project aims to demonstrate that organ-specific sympathetic neurons from the celiac ganglia regulate the cross-presentation capacity of CD169+ macrophages and cDC1 dendritic cells, thereby controlling CD8+ T immunity against circulating and tumor antigens. Under the responsibility of the coordinator, they will autonomously lead the three work packages of the project and contribute to the supervision of the associated PhD student.
MAIN ACTIVITIES WILL INCLUDE:
- Anatomical mapping of splenic sympathetic innervation (stereotaxic surgery, AAV vector injections, CUBIC tissue clearing, and light-sheet imaging).
- Isolation of neurons and myeloid populations by flow cytometry, as well as single-cell RNA-seq / AbSeq transcriptomic analysis.
- Functional manipulation of neural circuits (chemical sympathectomy, selective neuronal ablation, conditional deletion).
- Management of _in vivo_ models (_Listeria monocytogenes_ infection, C1498 leukemia) and _ex vivo_ cross-presentation tests.
- Mechanistic dissection via bulk RNA-seq and performing bioinformatic analyses (Seurat, DESeq2) on computing clusters.
- Translational validation on human tissue via spectral cytometry and pharmacological tests.
- Scientific dissemination (writing articles, conferences, sharing code and data according to FAIR principles).
REQUIRED PROFILE:
- EDUCATION: Bac +8, Doctorate (PhD) in life and health sciences (immunology, cell biology, neuroscience, or related discipline).
- EXPERIENCE: The position is intended for an established researcher with solid postdoctoral experience. Combined experience in immunology and neuro-immune circuit exploration constitutes a decisive asset.
- INDISPENSABLE SKILLS: Cellular immunology (MHC-I presentation, CD8+ T lymphocytes), high-throughput sequencing data analysis, applied statistics, and perfect mastery of scientific writing in English.
- EXPECTED KNOW-HOW: Human and murine primary cell biology, multiparametric flow cytometry, 3D imaging (confocal and light-sheet), and animal experimentation. Mastery of stereotaxic surgery is not required upon entry; training will be provided by the team.
- SOFT SKILLS: Autonomy, experimental rigor, organizational skills, sense of initiative, and a taste for collaborative and interdisciplinary work.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- CONTRACT TYPE: 36-month fixed-term contract (CDD), full-time (38h30 per week).
- START DATE: October 1st, 2026 (or as soon as possible).
- REMUNERATION: Starting from €2,997.20 gross monthly, depending on professional experience.
- BENEFITS: 32 days of Annual Leave and 12 RTT days earned from the first month, partial teleworking possible (1 to 2 days for bioinformatic analyses and writing).
- TECHNICAL ENVIRONMENT: Access to cutting-edge platforms (SFR Necker, Institut Imagine, NeuroDiderot).
