Description:

The scientific project

Despite the considerable progress made in the treatment of pediatric leukemias, many questions remain regarding their origin and the mechanisms that govern their development.

The postdoctoral project will be structured around three major axes:

  • decrypting the cellular and molecular mechanisms of leukemogenesis in children;
  • understanding the role of the medullary microenvironment in the initiation, evolution, and response to treatments of pediatric leukemias;
  • exploring the fetal and developmental origins of certain childhood leukemias in order to identify the early events at the origin of leukemic transformation.

The project will rely on innovative approaches in cellular and molecular biology, notably using biological samples from patients, advanced cellular models, as well as cutting-edge technologies such as multiparametric cytometry, transcriptomics (single-cell and ATAC-seq), genome editing, and bio-informatic analyses, depending on the profile of the candidate.

The post-doctoral researcher will join a team recognized for its work in pediatric hematology and will benefit from a particularly stimulating research environment, fostering interdisciplinary collaborations.

The project is part of the dynamics of the South Rock excellence consortium, offering privileged access to a network of researchers specializing in childhood cancers, high-level technological platforms, and numerous opportunities for scientific collaborations.

The candidate will be encouraged to develop their scientific autonomy, to initiate new projects, to publish in leading international journals, to present their work at national and international conferences, and to participate in student supervision.
