Accountant
We are looking for an Accountant for one of our global shipping clients in Singapore. The role will handle full-set accounting, financial reporting and consolidation, tax compliance and audit coordination, while supporting budgeting, forecasting and financial analysis to guide business decisions. The ideal candidate will have at least 3 years of audit experience in a public accounting firm, followed by relevant commercial accounting experience, preferably within shipping or a related industry, with strong financial reporting, analytical and communication skills. Key Responsibilities: Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual unconsolidated and consolidated financial statements (e.g., balance sheets, income statements) Monitor and analyze financial data, including revenues, liabilities, and expenditures Forecast costs and revenues to support budgeting and investment decisions Manage tax payments and ensure compliance with tax regulations Conduct internal audits and ensure adherence to financial policies Reconcile accounts and resolve discrepancies Provide financial insights and recommendations to senior management Assist in developing financial policies and procedures Stay current with industry trends and regulatory changes Assist in statutory audit process and resolving audit matters Ad-hoc duties as assigned including but not limited to business partnering duties. Key Requirements: Minimum 3 years of audit experience in a public accounting firm, followed by relevant commercial accounting experience, preferably within shipping, logistics, maritime, transportation, or related industries. Strong knowledge of financial reporting, month-end closing, statutory compliance, GST, and audit coordination. Hands-on experience in full-set accounting, accounts reconciliation, management reporting, and variance analysis. Exposure to cash flow monitoring, treasury operations, and banking transactions will be an advantage. Familiarity with ERP systems and proficiency in Microsoft Excel. Possess strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work independently and meet reporting deadlines. Prior experience in a regional or multinational environment would be advantageous. Degree in Accountancy, Finance, or a related discipline.
