Bank Community IV Nurse Join Our Clinical Homecare Nursing Team Our Clinical Homecare Nursing Team is dedicated to delivering exceptional care to patients in the place they feel most comfortable, their own home. Working in partnership with NHS teams and healthcare professionals, we provide specialist IV therapy and clinical homecare services, helping patients receive safe, effective treatment while maintaining their independence. We're looking for experienced, patient-focused Registered Nurses to join our team on a bank basis, providing high-quality nursing care to patients in their homes and community settings. As a Community IV Nurse, you'll have the flexibility to work around your other commitments while maintaining and developing your clinical skills and making a meaningful difference to patients receiving specialist treatment at home. This is a community-based role and regular travel is required. Visit locations and routes will vary depending on patient needs and service demand. Location: Gloucester & surrounding areas Working hours: Bank - flexible hours according to patient and service requirements As a Community IV Nurse, you will provide safe, high-quality, patient-centred nursing care to patients receiving specialist treatment in their own homes. You'll administer prescribed IV therapies, undertake clinical assessments and monitoring, and provide education and support to patients, families and carers. Working independently in the community while supported by an experienced clinical and multidisciplinary team, you'll help patients feel confident managing their treatment and enable them to receive specialist care safely outside of the hospital environment. Job Description Deliver safe, high-quality, patient-centred care in patients' homes and community settings. Administer prescribed IV therapies and clinical interventions in line with treatment plans, SOPs and professional standards. Undertake patient assessments and appropriate clinical monitoring throughout treatment. Assess patients, recognise changes in condition and escalate clinical concerns appropriately. Undertake home and community visits for treatment initiation, administration, ongoing care and follow-up. Provide appropriate care and management of vascular access devices in line with clinical and infection prevention standards. Train, educate and empower patients, families and carers to safely manage treatment and build confidence and independence. Provide clinical advice and support while developing strong relationships with patients and healthcare professionals. Identify, document and report adverse events and incidents in accordance with relevant procedures. Maintain accurate, timely and comprehensive clinical records. Ensure medicines, clinical equipment and associated supplies are handled safely and appropriately. Work collaboratively with NHS colleagues, pharmacists, consultants, specialist nurses and wider multidisciplinary teams to support continuity of care. Organise and prioritise allocated patient visits effectively. Work in accordance with safeguarding, infection prevention, medicines management, Clinical Governance, NMC standards and Inizio policies. Maintain clinical competence through training, CPD, reflective practice and evidence-based care. Qualifications & Experience Essential Registered Nurse with current NMC registration. Minimum of one year post-registration nursing experience. Current valid UK driving licence. Strong clinical assessment and communication skills. Ability to work confidently and independently in patients' homes. Good organisational and time-management skills. Ability to recognise clinical deterioration and escalate concerns appropriately. Confident using digital systems for clinical documentation and communication. Evidence of continuing professional development. Flexibility to undertake bank shifts according to patient and service requirements. Desirable Previous experience in IV therapy, infusion services or community nursing. Experience with vascular access devices and IV medication administration. Experience in Parenteral Nutrition services. Experience within oncology, gastroenterology, infectious diseases, nutrition support, homecare or other specialist therapies. Experience caring for patients receiving complex or long-term therapies in their own homes. Experience working within community, homecare, acute or NHS healthcare settings. Experience delivering patient education and support programmes. Relevant specialist nursing or post-registration clinical qualification.
