THE ROLE
The Operations Agent is a hands-on operational role that combines direct customer-facing rental service, vehicle preparation, fleet cleaning, and basic sales support.
You will accompany the entire customer journey, from preparing and cleaning campervans before departure to performing check-ins and check-outs, as well as assisting customers during their rental and supporting motorhome demonstrations when necessary. This role is ideal for a hands-on, customer-oriented person who is detail-oriented and comfortable in a dynamic, fast-paced depot environment.
WHAT WILL YOU WORK ON?
- Customer Service and Rental Operations: performing check-ins and check-outs, presenting vehicles to customers, accompanying them throughout their rental, and managing service recovery situations or emergencies with professionalism and empathy.
- Fleet Cleaning and Vehicle Preparation: cleaning the interior and exterior of vehicles, preparing campervans with kits, bedding, essentials, and additional options, ensuring that each vehicle meets Indie Campers' standards of quality, hygiene, and presentation.
- Post-Return Inspection and Reporting: inspecting returned vehicles to check for cleanliness, missing items, damage, or operational issues, and reporting them for follow-up.
- Sales Demonstrations and Customer Engagement: supporting motorhome demonstrations by presenting vehicle features, systems, and specifications, to help customers understand the product and ensure a smooth handover.
- Sales Conversion and Lead Support: identifying potential sales opportunities, supporting lead follow-up where relevant, and assisting the RV Sales team with customer information and documentation.
- Stock, Consumables, and Depot Organization: managing cleaning products, kits, consumables, and equipment, reporting stockouts or damages, and contributing to keeping the depot organized and ready for daily operations.
- Basic Product and Technical Support: explaining basic vehicle systems, such as lighting, gas, water, and other motorhome features, resolving simple issues, and escalating situations when necessary.
WHO ARE WE LOOKING FOR?
Essential:
- Experience in customer service, hospitality, sales, rental, cleaning, housekeeping, warehouse, automotive, or operational environments.
- Strong communication and customer relationship skills.
- Great attention to detail and commitment to hygiene, quality, and presentation standards.
- Hands-on, reliable, punctual, and solution-oriented mindset.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced operational environment.
- Ability to understand and explain basic vehicle or motorhome systems.
- Organized and proactive approach to managing customers, tasks, and operational priorities.
- Driver's license, category B.
- Proficiency in English.
Assets:
- Experience with CRM tools, rental systems, or digital sales software.
- Proficiency in the local language, such as French, if applicable.
- Previous experience in campervan, motorhome, automotive, tourism, or mobility environments.
PHYSICAL AND OPERATIONAL REQUIREMENTS
This role requires physical activity and flexibility in a depot environment. You must be able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stretch, and move around the depot for long periods, as well as work inside and outside vehicles in various weather conditions.
You must be comfortable lifting and carrying light to moderate items up to 15 kg, including kits, cleaning supplies, consumables, hoses, and supplies. You will also safely use cleaning chemical products and substances, in accordance with safety instructions and company training.
The role requires flexibility to work weekends, public holidays, according to high season schedules, and to adapt to urgent operational needs such as last-minute preparations, extra cleaning tasks, or periods of high customer volume.
You must also be comfortable interacting with customers in different emotional states, including enthusiastic, stressed, or confused customers, while remaining calm, empathetic, and professional.
